Damn sorry to hear this happened to you at 5-6 dots. That's at least 100 miles to go on a tank. I'm not sure what kind of turns you guys are taking or how fast. But with that much fuel it is definatley an issue, and I"ll say it again if they put out recall for Quest for this, why not the Z? (Quest is more so software issue)

On a side note... I've driven Z with blanked out miles and 1 dot. Commen sense no matter what car I'm in, I'm not driving aggressive so I can conserve as much fuel as possible in those situations.

We get Fuel Perks here, giving us a one time deep discount on a gas purchase for their one time use. Thus, I let the tank go to NO dots to be able to buy as much deeply discounted fuel as possible. Thankfully, I've never had a problem and have done this often. Maybe the key is to drive gently under such circumstances---which I generally do.

I was on my way to soccer and i was leaving early so i had enough time to stretch being old and all.



I was able to keep up speed while it started to choke so i could roll off to the side of the road. if this is to ever happen again im going to put it in neutral and do sharp left zigzag turns to slosh the gas to the right side of the tank.



This actually happened to me once before and the car was on 3 dots at the time. That time the car started after about 5 mins. This time it would not start at all after showing 5-6 dots.



Hey man I was right there by Centerfolds heading up to Folsom but i didn't get your text (appreciate it though). Luckily my ex and I play on the same soccer team so she was able to stop and get me gas.

i should seriously consider buying a 3gal gas tank and keep it in the garage.

so i got the 2.5gal No-spill and their 206 flex spout. :tup: will keep it empty in my garage until the day i need my wife's help. :p actually, my wife tends to drive her car nearly on fumes often so i've been thinking of getting one anyway. kill 2 birds with one tank. :tup:

Good to have one around. I had mine for the lawn mower but got a lawn service now so never use it anymore.

I guess I'm lucky because I've never had the problem, even on the track.

there are tolerances to all parts and cossie and some others just happen to have parts that are near or at the limits, i think.

but spending $27 on a gas can is not bad for insurance. :D

The biggest issue with that, is, a gas tank at home is just as useful as having AAA or any other road side assistance.
I've always wanted to carry a gas cab in the car, but the benefit doesn't outweigh the risk

I am pretty certain that me calling my wife up, when I am stalled and 75 miles from home, asking her to bring me some gasoline would be met with hysterical laughter and a click of the phone being hung up.

Geesh, keep your tanks above 1/2 full.
