There are about 10 dealers in Houston. Does anyone have any experiences, good or bad, with any of them they would like to share?

I bought from Tom Peacock, if you do talk to someone called Steve Hipshick.

Once you have worked out your deal.
Quote that price - 500 at Southpoint Nissan in Austin...they like to deal. Also don;t forget to add Tint into the deal. Good luck.

sterling mccall did me right on my 370z. Nice people. I also bought a Acura from them back in 03. They did me right on that one also.
stay away from david mcdavid. hiiiissssssssss booooooh. They have the worst customer service and sales idiots who made me feel like I was wasting their time.

Purchased my 350 from Baker Jackson and my 370 from Mossy wouldn't recommend either, go to Tom Peacock.

Dealt with Baker-Jackson, Mossy, Tom Peacock and Sterling McCall.
Personally, I have had good experiences with Tom Peacock and Sterling McCall. I've had mixed experiences at Baker-Jackson and terrible experience at Mossy. I recommend calling all of them because it is more dependent on whether you run into 'one of those' salespeople. |

I bought mine at Champion. The sales experience was decent, but the service experience after has been a bit lacking (like, they never did get back to me on replacing my locking lugs, and their parts dept has dropped the ball on me a couple of times, etc). Most dealerships make me pretty furious though, so they rate a "not so bad" in my book
I originally tried to buy at Mossy and ended up walking out on them after spending a few frustrating hours there (and buying from Champion the next day). Don't know if that reflects on the whole place, or just the saleswoman I ended up with, but she basically just kept lying to me about available stock (colors/options) that they could get in, and then changing the story slightly as we went along, trying to con me into taking a car that wasn't really what I was asking for. I finally had to just tell her point blank to show me paperwork on a VIN that had exactly what I wanted and would be there within 2 days gauranteed, and she couldn't (after dragging me through half the financing process already, etc). I've had good experiences with both Sterling McCall (on 59S) and Baker Jackson (on 290) when dealing with them for parts stuff. I'm inclined to favor them both over Champion at this point. |

Baker Jackson would not quote the correct VPP pricing, and were a-holes about it. They kept adding an extra $900. Tom Peacock had some decent deals and treated me nicely, though they wouldn't run the VPP for me saying their price was cheaper(which it was not). Mossy wouldn't give me VPP pricing at all. I ended up purchasing the vehicle in Dallas.

The one on 59 just south of the beltway.
I got my Altima from them and will be buying my Z or GTR from them as well. They let me sit in and start up the GTR in the show room the other day. |

I bought my 350Z at Clear Lake Nissan. They were ...meh. Service is ok except they can't seem to level a headlight after 2 requests.

I brought mine from clear lake nissan, never intended to buy there just went there for test drive. The internet is your friend. I went on line after 2 weeks of researching the car, the night before i went shopping i sent the little questionaire deal to several dealers. One was in San Antonio (one of the top dealers) Told them what i wanted to spend , what i would pay per month, etc.... Of course only do this once you know fair market value etc... I left my number also, the next morning i had several calls , mossy, ingram , mcdavid , quite a few. I knew i was buying , but have not driven the car. so since i was back on my end of town i said why not go to clear lake and drive one??? Once you are there you know how they are.
I explained to the salesman what i wanted , and how much it should cost. They started the check with my manager game, i stood up told them that i had to get back to my business, wrote the numbers down on paper and told them if they could get close to call me, in the meantime i had 3 other peolple working deals. it took about 10 seconds for them to agree. i wrote my ss# on paper anmd told them to run my credit only if we had a deal. they had my car ready about 2 hrs. later. i finally picked it up on that Monday !!! Remember when buying a car YOU ARE IN CHARGE !!! Deals should come easy Last edited by HT Rambler; 08-06-2009 at 07:09 PM. |
