Tape off the clear part, sand it and paint it?

Can you just yank off the 'Z' emblem off the turn signal?

I highly doubt it. It's either molded or glued on. Probably difficult to remove and even if you do, it wouldn't be very clean.

I didn't remove the tape properly and have a couple of spots where the paint peeled. Since I used the DupliColor Shadow (it is a translucent coating), I'll eventually redo it without taping anything. It will just make the smoked lens a little darker.

I've screwed up painting mine twice now. I've got a set of Nismo wheels headed off to get painted soon, and I'll just throw the turn signals into the deal. Get it done right. I'm a retard with a rattlecan.

Well, I actually purchased a second set from a forum member who sold his Z. I did several coats on them, and they came out super dark. It wasn't exactly what I wanted, but I thought it looked fine. I even removed all the tape very cautiously, and the lines were very clean. Of course, then during the install, I dropped one of them on the concrete, scratching the hell out of it. So I pulled off my stock original ones and did the single coat, and thought it looked great. Then I got antsy and didn't take my time removing the tape and a couple of edges peeled. I've been getting a lot more practice over the past year, so I'm much better with the rattle can. I'm going to get some more KAD paint and color match a lot more of the silver trim on the interior. It's a subtle change, but I like it a lot.

You know what the Z stands for? Now how could you think of desecrating it with Batman?

They are very easy to remove. In fact, I remove them every time I wax the car. Just slide your fingernail under the front edge of the marker and push it towards the back of the car. Once you push it far enough so a clip will clear the edge of the hole in the fender, the front of the marker should pop out. Then just pull it forward to release the rear clip.

Here is my album. There's not much detail because it's really easy to do. Nissan 370Z Forum - JARblue's Album: Side Markers
