Being a long time Z fan, owned a 280, 300 TT, 350 and now 370, if the 4 banger with boost performs better than the current 3.7 NA, Ill PROBABLY get on board. That being said...a Z without a six? really? I should be more accurate, the entire package has to perform better than the 370, Im NOT buying one to go backwards. Theres no argument in the entire line about better performance from inception, with the exception of the 350 over the 300. Its arguable, however the HR, 70 times out of a 100, would be faster than any stock 300 I bet. Then again, price point, the 300, when it died was Porsche pricey. Im happy with the 370, 90-95% Cayman S performance for 1/2 the price. Though a new GTR in my garage would be nice. That and a gold plated shitter, some things just aint in the cards.

If we're playing the wishing game, I'd love a direct injection destroked VQ that can rev to the moon with a pair of turbos weighing in under 3000 lbs.

Exactly, that was my point. The only cars we have seen are old versions claiming to be the next Z... The only real indicator will be at the TAS this year... And that model will still get some tweaks.

I would rather just have them make a couple tweaks with a 4 cyl to the Nismo and if they did a true track model for the "higher" performance option.
Honestly a 4 cyl turbo with 315 hp by Nissan vs a 6 cyl NA motor say 350hp would make the 4 cyl the faster in the long run better option. The 4 cyl is lighter and a boosted car can put down great power for cheap.
Not only would the 4 cyl be close to the 6 for 0-60 but would take a couple thousand to make it a beast where as the 6 cyl would take 6K plus to make minimal power added...
My buddy had a 271hp EV0 8 (like 241 to the wheels) he spent 750 dollars and put 300 hp to the wheels... Boosted cars are muc easier to squeeze power out of for little money.
Nissan would be doing tha same game as Hyundai with the genesis couple 4 cyl turbo wih 275hp and the V6 3.8 with 350hp... If each car was given 3K to spend on mods the turbo would come to be the same if not faster then the 6 cyl.

...I'd probably get a Nismo version this time around.

But I just got the car in June, I'll probably enjoy my 370 until 2015 at the very least.

Anyone seen this? A few weeks old. Nothing newsworthy. I don't sense the Z DNA in this rendering.
