Love the current model Z styling, and looking forward to see what the new one is like. The current Z's style is clean, unmistakably sporty, powerful, and classic. The styling is integrated such that it doesn't look like one group styled the front, another the rear, another the side etc. The current Z doesn't have unnecessary styling add-ons such as the BR-Z fake fender vents, nor any inexplicable body lines going in different directions, like the 06 BMW Z4, or any exaggerated overwrought lines, like the new Z4, or C7 for that matter.
All IMHO of course. I'd like to have a 370Z, but decided to wait until I see the new one. If it's a lot like the white ESSflow in the picture (or whatever it's name is), I'll pass like many have said, and get the current model. A lighter, better performing and more efficient car would be desirable, but not if the designers go goofy and exaggerated with the styling. The current Z is proof that a sports car can be "understated" yet distinct and impressive in styling. I can't think of another sports car that equals the Z's presence without being over-styled and exaggerated. If the new Z has the classic proportions of the original, similar performance to the current model, and continues the tradition of clean and straightforward styling without the exaggerations and goofiness of so many cars these days, then I'm a buyer. |

I have a 2013 Z, looking forward to the Z35, unless its a HUGE performance improvement over the Z34, i mean HUGE (dont really see how thats possible and keep the price reasonable), ill stick with the 370. Im getting a bit track experience at Sebring with Chin racing, putting down decent times. So less weight, more power...unless it actually WORKS at being a better drivers car, i.e. faster on the track I dont see myself trading for a Z35. Then again like Jordo said, lightening may strike again. I also have a DD, two actually, though I like driving the Z most days, so it has to be double duty.

I'm willing to bet that pic of the concept car will have less then 20 percent influence on the new Z... I assume the short tail and front bumper may be similar but there is wayyy too much of a styling jump on that from the 370z to be the successor car. Plus Nissan loves to mess with us in thinking it will look one way and completely going another way styling wise.
Google 350z concepts... There was one that looked like an updated 240z and it was hideous looking and the new Z looked NOTHING like it. I will say if they don't do a 4 cyl turbo I will be very dissapointed. A boosted 4 would be a blast.

The first Z concept was from 1999 whereas the second (which eventually became the 350Z) was from 2002. My understanding with concepts is it all depends on what the market reception of them is as to whether they go back to the drawing board or how close the make the production vehicle. That and costs that is.
