Over 100k should I race?

Ive got a 09 sport touring with like 105k on the motor. I've done a lot of autox and drift events in the past in my 350z but it was when i had low miles and then on a built motor. id love to take my 370 out to the track but im not in a position to build the motor right now. I checked on a couple high mileage threads and the motors seam to hold up very well but im not sure if they are racing their motors. Do you guys think i should be worried about bringing something with such high mileage out to the track? I appreciate any input. Thanks!

As long as you have maintained the car and make sure the car has proper brakes, parts, and fluids, I don't see why it wouldn't run flawlessly. Some 100k mile cars look better and perform better then ones with 50k. Just how its taken care of I suppose

Not sure what type of racing you are doing, but if you are talking about running the car longer then once or twice down a quarter mile drag - make sure you purchase an oil cooler. My 09 doesn't have one and it only took about 5 runs for the car to get very hot. 230+

its hard to tell cause we can't really inspect your engine or the rest of your car.

maybe do the basic tune up like spark plugs, oil change, etc. tranny oil inspection, diff oil change, etc. for high milage car.

If you're really worried about it, go get a compression test done, and send an oil sample out to Blackstone Labs to see if you're experiencing abnormal wear.

I guess it all depends on its diet over its life and health it’s in. (GAS, OIL, UP KEEP)

Thanks guys, it will be mostly auto cross with less than 1 minute runs. Ill probably get a compression check and diagnose the oil. Ill have to look into getting an oil cooler as well.

Depends on how fast you are. Some of the guys I've instructed were so slow that it wouldn't be any more wear and tear than a Sunday drive.

I think the advise given thus far is sound. Good luck, you will have it.
