Help talk a fellow off the ledge.

On a local car club FB page a guy just asked for help. Wants to make sure a 11" wheel with a 255 tire will work for the front. I'm sorry but there's a guy here too selling something like that right now and I literally wanna puke seeing them pics. Its by far the most disgusting look a car could possible have, not to mention the danger of the tire coming off the bead its not really on anywho!!! Can like 200 people all jump on and tell him he's insane? Why would you buy a Z and destroy it like that?

gomer_110 08-23-2013 11:23 PM

Saw the same post. I've just come to realize that most of those guys only care about looks (even if it's not the right kind of looks).

synolimit 08-23-2013 11:41 PM

I just don't get it. Even just to local meets and such its still like driving around with a turbo kit and zero tune, Or playing Russian roulette. Its not if but when you blow a tire and kill you or others. I'd impound every car I'd see if still a cop! And I'd totally deni an insurance claim.

I don't understand it either but to each his own. Let him learn it the hard way.

what the actual ****

Waiz 08-24-2013 12:16 AM

That's actually not that bad for a stretch, whatever floats ur boat is what I say :ugh2:

You do realize that plenty of people run stretched tires without issues right?

That Green Z you posted hit a curb, had nothing to do with being stretched since he was trying to avoid an accident

axmea? 08-24-2013 12:33 AM

^^^ Now you heard the rest of the story from Waizzz. Puts it in context.

Op, that's his choice. No one talked the owner of this Z off the cliff. Blast from the past photo here......

That poor Z...I would legitimately shun him from the Z section at meets. That has ricer written all over it. Also those small wheels literally make me want to rip my eyes out. I hope their tires keep blowing out. Maybe they will hit their head and realize how dumb it looks plus the danger if stretching tires to the limit. :ugh2::wtf2:

This is a SoCal car. We do what we like with our money and our cars and we're cool with each other. Is this my cup of tea...no. But I'd welcome him at any car meet. The people I'd ban are the close minded, negative and hateful people wishing harm on others or their vehicles for their choice in mods. There's no place for that here.

:shakes head: If you did, it wouldn't be very "legitimate". Is it OK if someone decides they don't like what you did to your Z and shuns you too?

Personally, I don't care for the pin striping on the rear of the car, but other than that I like that Z.

*Edit*

You know what. You're right. That behavior was uncalled for and I apologize. I don't wish harm to anyone (unless they truly deserve it) and I don't wan to be viewed as hateful. It has been a long and stressful week. :(

This is the Internet.

Curiously, why are we jumping on this fellow for his silly spending of mod money? Why are stretched tires worse than the added weight of carbon fiber covers? Actually I know the answer to this particular one.

Useless is useless on many "look" mods.

Personally, I kind of like the scissor doors. I was thinking about them for my car, but given the reaction from some people (not all on this forum), I'm not sure any more. I chose to get a car that few people own, if I want to make it more unique, people should be okay with it. Just my thoughts....

:iagree: Don't be a clone, do mods that you like. It's your car. But when it comes to unsafe ehh enhancments, it's time to speak up.

:twocents:

OP. The whole idea is to give feedback on your thoughts about what your friend wants to do and support his decision. Let him figure things out.
