so wait let me get this straight
if you're young and you buy a sports car people think you're a spoiled brat if you're middle aged and buy a sports car people think you're going through a mid life crisis sounds like a bunch of jelly people to me, haters gonna hate

I didn't mean it as in they showed me love by buying a car but I was referring to people questioning me about the S and Z at the ages I owned those cars and making jealous comments.

There are certain girls at my gym who I've seen and thought nothing of and vice-versa. Not being mean, but most of us are just strangers who go to a gym and workout.
But at least two have seen me in my Z...and then I noticed a change in them. So that's kinda funny.

For those that made it to a 3rd date I'd pull up in the Z. You should see their faces when I pulled up. And then when they asked if I got a new car and I say "No, I've had this one for a while but only take it out for those that deserve it."... Seriously no better way to make a girl feel special, change her opinion of you for the better, and turn a girl on. Follow that up with dinner at my "3rd date" restaurant, then dancing at a whole-in-the-wall hip hop club most had never been to, then to my place to seal the deal. Man, those were good days. The only exception was my wife. I knew she was the one before we even met (talked through email etc before meeting in person). For her I drove the Z on the first date and took her to the 3rd date dinner place on the 1st date. Married now with a 10 month old daughter and couldn't be happier. |

Well, people joke that I am going through my mid-life crisis or at least I hope they are joking! Or they think I have lots of money not realizing that the car wasn't that expensive.

I have always had the best sports car I could afford from the age of 17 to present. As others have mentioned my social status has increased right along with it and any lifelong friends are used to it. So for me nothing has changed.
The only exception to this is the people I work with. Unfortunately our pay structure is fixed so we all pretty much know what each other make minus the differences in overtime. I get the vibe all the younger guys hate me, at one time I owned 4 cars (two 370s), a new zx10r, 600, and a small but nice house on a lake. I have cut back on some of my toys but now own two houses on lakes, one I now rent out, and the one we are currently living in. I can’t help it that I know how to budget our money. They all think im a drug dealer on the side. Quote:
Edit: On the midlife crisis topic......I cant WAIT to see what my midlife crisis car is.

Well when I am in my "hupty" Ranger 92 truck people look at me different then when I'm driving or pumping gas with my Z, especially females.
Example, pumping gas to the Ranger, females don't give me time of the day. However when I'm pumping gas in the Z most of them want to make conversation.

Most people once the kids go to college they don't need the truck, van, SUV or 4 door car. So they buy what they want or always wanted. Now if you downgrade to a Condo or Townhouse is mid-life crisis. Stupid people! That is just jealousy. And for the lil pee pee, I just would say well just try it if you want to find out.
