Maybe the luckiest man around.......

So I'm driving home from shopping for my ladies birthday gift, and in a good mood, thinking about the nights events to come. I'm on a road that has 2 lanes going north, and traffic was very light. when approaching an intersection, a car rolls through on my right going west, and didn't appear to be able to stop in time for the light. as his front end enters my lane, I gas it, and swerve ever so slightly entering the left lane, and back over. DAMN! very near miss, but he did get stopped. the minivan behind me to the left blasts me with the horn, and the young lady sitting in the passenger side politely gives me the finger, and I can hear the driver shouting obsenities at me. I wave, and forget about it. At the next light, the minivan stops 10 car lengths behind the car in front of him, and I can tell he's waiting for me to stop so he can pull along side. I stop next to him and apologize for scaring them, but they did not see the other driver nearly hitting me, the reason for me swerving in the first place. He says alright, but he has an infant in the car, thats why he was so pissed. I apologize again, and noone was hurt, and no vehicles got damaged, so its all good. He agrees.
About 3 seconds later, I hear him screaming over to me again that I am "Lucky" I said "excuse me?" he says "I said your lucky, 'cause I don't Play"
Being somewhat familiar with the teenage vernacular, I assume he means I'm lucky he didn't get me along the side of the road and attempt to assault me.
I reply "thank you..I feel very lucky"
This seems to aggravate the young man, and he asks me in a rather rude way to pull over up ahead. I am now getting extremely aggravated myself, as are the other motorists that are unfortunately trapped behind the 2 idiots now at full roar in the middle of the road. I said "Alright mother f@#$er, YOU GOT IT. I'm pulling over right up here."
I pull away, and he pulls in behind me, I slow, and let all the traffic pass us, and I proceed to pull over in a convenient spot. This guy is pissed, I see the van stop even before I do, and I gradually come to a stop about 50 feet in front of him. I see him leap from the van, and start marching my way. When hes about 10 feet or so from my car, I yell to him out the window, "I'M JUST PLAYIN' " and leave him in a cloud of dust, tires squealing. I laughed to myself the rest of the 1/2 hour ride home.
For the record, I did get "Lucky" later that night.
KIDS........:shakes head:

Did you stop to think for 1 second he may be packing?

Stupid!

I'm confused. So it was a kid driving and he had an infant in the mini van? Couple in a van with a kid sounds like they would be adults. Then again with the degeneration of our youth, he could have been 16 with a kid. Glad you didn't get hurt or get in a wreck though! Some people are crazy. I would have done the same thing. Made him get out of the car and then leave him the dust laughing. Good for you.

That's why I carry when I drive. Commuting into Atlanta every weekend, you never know who you will come across.

That is why you pack yourself, never leave home without it. I live in Texas.

Sounds like a very risky move if you weren't carrying one on you. But congrats on the engagement!

Well I think even if he was carrying, it wouldn't of been in his best interest to shoot him since he was fueling the argument. Now as long as both parties don't have guns I say fight it out, but you never can guarantee that.

I agree with kidkotic! I never leave home without it unless I know I am going to be drinking or hitting the bars.

Good thing you didn't get beat up, she may have said "no" lol. j/k congrats!
