Lololol when did I ever say I'd pull one out if I was irate? Frankly I don't stop and argue with people. If I'm cornered and someone walking up to my car fists up or bat in hand, different story. That's a threat. Never for a silly traffic dispute. Please.

Fighting someone on the side if the road is immature and dangerous. I don't need to expose myself to that. Like I said before, I avoid any confrontation. I don't swear, yell, or use hand gestures to further the situation. If you still feel the need to verbally threaten me and step out of your vehicle and approach me, that's not something to take lightly. If you still think that is cowardly, well then I guess you're just a whole lot tougher than I. What else can I say.

I don't think this is true at all. I have no problems with the fight itself, it's all of the other consequences it opens me up to. Besides the risk of jail time, there's also the potential loss of my livelihood. Recognizing that if being "bullied" is just words and as good as it would make me feel to shut someone up by knocking his eyes crossed, someone's words should never provoke you to the point where you are putting your life, livlihood or assets at risk. Now if someone puts their hands on you, all of that goes out the window. If you initiate a confrontation by putting your hands on me, I will respond using an appropriate level of force.

I agree with every bit of this.

I worry about this stuff all the time. Drunk driving, reckless driving, assault, any of these things can result in a loss of licenses I need to make a living. If someone wants to fight, yeah, I'll be a "pussy" and walk away. It's not worth risking losing my livelihood.

Not to mention 99% of arguments are not worth fighting over. Unless someone said something out of line about my family I have never felt the urge to physically fight about it.

Now if someone is actively trying to kill me... that's what my Glock is for.

My concern exactly. I have a feeling we're probably talking about the same licenses. Although, from looking at the guys in my office, FINRA doesn't seem to care about your first two DWIs.

So many threads on here where guys want to pull out guns for the most minor of issues that people post. It's ridiculous and cowardly in my book. I don't even know how pulling a gun comes up in 90% of these threads.... It sounds cowardly to constantly bring up pulling out a gun every thread there's a stupid level confrontation on the road. It happens a lot on this forum in general and I think there's a lot f people carrying guns that shouldn't. The last thing you need in life is someone paranoid and armed....

I'm just saying if I'm going to waste my time in a minor quibble? I'm not going to pull out a gun on an unarmed shyt talker. Worst case scenario. I'd rather just lay him out I f need be, rather than put him down permanently.

But I don't get into these situations as a man my age.

Exactly. Got to stay clean for FINRA and the BD!

But you know, road rage itself is dangerous exactly because someone might pull a gun. There was a story a few years back of a guy shooting at a vehicle from his car, and the shooter had an infant in the back seat.

Ppl be crazy on the roads.

Defense of myself or others aside, I'll go the pussy route if it means I don't develop a permanent limp or risk death or incapacitation. I'm a grown man who hasn't had training or a history of fighting or being hit. I shouldn't start now. For those with training and/or history, more props to you, you do what you want. Because of my lack of training and experience, weird things can and do happen, either what I take or what I give (for instance adrenaline blackout causing my to take a beating too far and get into legal trouble that changes my life).

For guns, I get the drawing of a weapon in a situation. But what I don't agree with are those who say a gun is a way to diffuse a situation. I won't argue that it will have that effect, but drawing a weapon is really a situation escalator. You've escalated the encounter by including a weapon, and as such if the other person has a gun, they can choose to meet that escalation. It's a subtle thing that usually gets lost in text-based discussions.

Besides, you could be the one who was completely in the wrong, and you pull a gun and suddenly you feel in the right. And you're not. There's no way to define it or enforce it, but when guns are in the hands of decent, rational people, I feel much better.

Just to clarify.... I did not specifically stop to speak with him, I was stopped behind traffic at a red light, where he positioned himself to bitch at me. I would have been just as well to continue on, and never lay eyes on him again. That being said, I did not consider the fact that he may have been packing until it was mentioned here, But I never had the intention of getting out of my car in the first place. I'm too old for that shyt. In hindsight, I should have rolled up the window and turned up the Jams.
I do own guns, but they stay here in my home for protection only, and could probably not bring myself to shoot a person anyway, unless it were a dire situation.
