Very different...

And people yell at me, I don't wave a gun, people run to my car in an aggressive manner, I **** my gun and prepare it at the window side, any closer, THEN I consider pulling the trigger...

So the question is, do you think you're hot stuff? :happydance:

God, I hope I never have to fire one off from inside the car. I can't imagine how much hearing damage there's got to be from firing a .357 snubnose 18" from your head. It might set the car on fire too.

smh, most likely not gonna drive it for quite awhile if its manual

Nope, but I will say that I've unfortunately had to pull my gun out while driving in TX.

:iagree: I've got a .40 with a 3" barrel, that must be deafening as well...

Chuck33079 08-08-2013 01:09 PM

I'm thinking it might be enough to pick up a light concussion. Definitely if multiple rounds are fired.

i've fired my glock27 (40cal sub-compact) inside a car when doing some situational shoots with friends and i did it without earmuffs just to know what to expect in a real situation. its not as bad as you'd think.

Chuck33079 08-08-2013 01:12 PM

Really? The few times I've fired a 9mm or .40 without muffs it's been painful. I've never been dumb enough to uncork the .357 without muffs and earplugs. It's still loud.

How long did it take to get the smell and soot out of the car?

There's a lot more room for the sound to dissipate in one of those. Opening fire inside the Z has to be like having a gunfight in a phone booth.

i mean i'll test it if you want......lol

i'm no stranger to deafening sounds and ringing in the ears from a very large number of rock/metal shows and playing drums since 5th grade lol

Yeah, it shouldn't be too bad in a fight or flight scenario. The brain cuts off hearing.

:iagree:

Chuck33079 08-08-2013 01:21 PM

I wouldn't bother. You only get so much hearing, and it doesn't grow back. Save it in case you have to do it for real sometime. Unless you want to borrow the .357 snubnose flamethrower and let me film the results.

Point taken. ;)

I was just trying to say that there were other things that could have been done that didn't involve using a firearm. Maybe my examples weren't the best. I suppose roll-the-windows-up would have been the best course of action.

I hope we can agree that attempting to use a gun in this situation was totally inappropriate.

At that moment. Auditory exclusion, right? It's still going to do damage, you're just concentrating on the threat.

I'm guessing Rhonney is more concerned about the fact he almost blew his junk off being a dumbass.
