I've gotten a few quotes from them for aftermarket stuff, and it's always less than I expected it to be.

You're going to be obtaining legal representation and going back after the original dealer who FUBARed the motor for your costs, right?

roy'sz 08-13-2013 09:55 AM

I would be taking this up with corporate. I would use the excuse that there was no way you could have damaged the car since it was in their custody. Not a good situation either way. :-(

Opening a case first, then starting the shít storm.
Unfortunately this is a he said she said battle that's going no where fast. So I'll do what I can do, but I'll most likely have to pay the $2500~ out of pocket and wait for compensation.

roy'sz 08-13-2013 11:17 AM

Andrew I'd get a rental and charge nissan backpay and your carpayment for their delay!

That's half the dealer, half is me being broke, you gotta understand that my motor has been dropped and reinstalled TWICE, and the dealership is currently eating the costs, or REALLY working with me to save me money. To take my car off the lot, they want $600 in labor so far of pulling the motor out, putting it in to save space, then pulling it, then taking the valve head off to inspect the cylinder, then putting it back in. That's CHEAP... It's $1100 (assume $1200) all told for labor to put a new valve head on and get the car back up and running.

Honestly, that ain't bad. AND they already gave me a rental for the first week and I didn't pay (although since it wasn't warranty, I should have)

Fortunately I've got a new job, doesn't pay well (yet), but I am finally getting my tax refund, and it should cover everything

Yeah, but you may be able to get some of that back by going after the first dealer.

Bet your arse!!!
Honestly... At the end of the day, I'm going to take most of it as "the labor was to change the hoses and put headers and install the radiator" so I don't feel like I got fisted.

Dude, you go to war with Nissan on behalf of other as a hobby. Now that its personal since its your car, they're going to feel all kinds of violated.

AHAHAHAHAHA, and I'd take a week off work to sit across the street of that dealershit to yell at them. Hell, any time I pass by that dealershit, if a friend is with me, I'll either have him yell something at them, or he'll drive and I'll yell

Seeing customers look at this guy on a freeway on ramp yelling to them to not buy a car has it's joy, but maybe I'm crazy...

FUUUUUUCK!!!

My car is actually, finally done, and I can hopefully pick it up tomorrow... Problem is... My service advisor was fired 2 days ago... I REALLY hope the dealer doesn't try to screw me now...

theDreamer 10-11-2013 01:50 PM

Anything already in the system pricing wise?

I haven't a god damn clue until the service manager gives me a call...

Thing is that my service advisor told me that ALL TOLD, to replace the head it would be $1100 plus the price of the head... I found a head from Fred Beans for $999 shipped and he's like shít, we can match it, and I told him that I don't pay tax on it either, and he said, we'll bring it down less than $950, but you'll have to pay tax... And I gave that authorization, no prob.

He did call me last Friday or Saturday and he said a primary O2 broke, and that would be an extra $200, no problem... I think the list is $350-400, I don't want them to try to stick that to me as well...

theDreamer 10-11-2013 02:13 PM

Hopefully as the work was being done he was inputting the numbers, which many times they have to. Though if the manager sees it and wants to screw with it now, he can.

Good god almighty I pray he doesn't...

The service advisor said they'll work with me as much as they can... And him and the tech really thanked me for being this patient... After all, they HAVE had my approval for everything for 2 months...

The only thing I can half-arse fall back on is that they're a forum sponsor... And if they screw me, I can try screwing them back...

pretty sure they will honor the original agreement dude, i was just in their a couple weeks ago to get the pulse light that they install on alot of their cars fixed due to a bracket holding it in breaking and they replaced it no questions asked and even threw in a free car wash to boot for the trouble. i had been wondering what happened to your car myself cause i hadn't heard anything from you about it for the last few weeks, i just thought you were out finally enjoying it or something lol. hopefully everything works out in your favor though :)

Honestly, I can only pray...

I don't want them to come back and say, well, it was 22 hours of labor, and we ordered you a head, and we had to overnight a second one...

Here's your bill for $5500
