But I get it OP.....you were watching the X Games and decided to go all Ken Block Gymkhana style for your friend....you got to watch out for the obstacles though.

I was under the impression that VDC did its striking by being off.

really? I don't. I hope his insurance covers it and gets it off the road and the OP back on his feet. If there's damage to the frame or anything the car will never drive the same again.

Sorry to hear your hit the median, i drive with VDC off alot and never had an issue with losing control. You need to get a feel for the car, they are very controllable. VDC off shouldn't mean = instant crash. Get her fixed and get back on the road! And maybe get some practice in controlling the car in a slide if you get the opportunity to go to a track of some kind, or an abandoned parking lot, ect.
