Any 2009 Issues With The 370Z?
just wondering if there were any issues with the new 370Z since its in its first year? someone once told me that when a product is new there could be things that come up unexpectedly, and that often times they are fixed from one model year to the next.
so, does anybody know of anything that seemed to be a recurring problem with the new 370Z? anything at all? should i not hesitate in buying a '09 370Z or should i wait for the '10 370Z? Mike |
I keep having this weird problem where my foot gets stuck on the gas pedal, not sure why though.

i believe the major problems were the oil cooling efficiency.
some people had interior making sounds. somthing about brakes when tracking to i forgot tho. that's all i remember bad about this car. |

Yes, here are the issues:
26 more HP than the 350 it replaced bigger brakes than the 350 350 drivers always gawk and slow down when I drive my 370 350 drivers sometimes, rev and challenge me though I ignore these immature inferiority complexes even Porsche 997 drivers (a car that's 3x more in price and prestige) like doing double takes oil temp hits 220+ when I drive on sunny days needs some more low end torque |
The topics Shunya has posted about are there, but:
Both the oil cooling and brake topics are track related issues. The noises in the cabin does happen in street use, have had it pop up now and again but my music usually over shadows that problem. |
pretty much the only major issue most 370z folks are dealing with Mike...

None so far, but then it's parked and has been for a while.
Central Texas has been sitting around 105 for the past 2 months....Disgusting....no oil overheating issue to really speak of when I have driven the vehicle, the gauge moves a bit, but then who's dumb enough to drive their car hard in this soup bowl. So I've parked it....at least until the temps start to cool down around here and then I can get back to enjoying the ride I purchased. For now......it's all about my pick-up truck. |

If you're into heated sideview mirror, then I say wait for the 2010. If not, then 09 is the exact same car. You'll probably get a better deal on a 09 than '10. I see you're coming from a 350Z. You may notice a slight lack of low end tq. Other than than, you'll find NO problem with this car. Oil temp issue is track related.

That was my point when I got the 2006 Scion tC instead of the 05 when they first came out... The 06 had a better head unit, steering wheel controls, and plus it allowed them to work out any bugs in the engine, body, interior, manuf. process etc before I signed my name to one...
I was thinking about doing this with the Z as well. But I can't imagine them changing anything asthetically with the body since they usually hold on to a body style for a few years and since I LOVE this body over the 350 series I'm sold. Any kind of special newbies that come with the 2010 I'm sure you can get installed in your 09 afterwards... |
Oil Temps - Agressive driving, or track related mostly.
Rear Diff failures - Possibly track related Brakes - Weak brake rotors That's all I have seen so far to what I can tell. |
I can see one big problem with getting a 2010 over 2009. No Chicane Yellow!!
