I think if you car hop a lot, it is smart to keep your stock parts. Most buyers want an un-doctored vehicle. Stock vehicles will usually sell faster because everyone has different styles & taste & don't want surprises caused from side effects of someones idea of what was cool. For me I will be keeping the car for a long time, but I have kept all my stock parts except my exhaust (still have stock cats as I don't like smog Nazi headaches
