Rear End Noise
Anyone has a clicking noise at the rear end? I have a clicking noise coming from the rear of the car when I go from a stop to moving or a slow roll. It sounds like it's coming from drivers side rear wheel. If you guys can check your car out for this noise.

I've definitely got the same noise, and have not been able to locate the source. Mine does not seem to be noticed until the car warms up, then you get this intermittent faint clicking sound.

Check your tires for a nail.

It happens when backing up too. Hitting the gas randomly in 2nd gear about 10 mph usually this noise will occur just in slow speeds. I can't hear it at high speeds though.

Bradz.... Do you have the touring model? I first suspected the cargo cover, but havn't been able to isolate the clicking as coming from my cargo cover.

No, I just got the base. Its not inside the car. I'm pretty sure its outside the car. |
Check your lug nuts

I took my 370 in last week for the third time for this. turns out nissan has put out a bulletin on the rear axles. Diff needs to be opend and axles need to be greased. then rotated 180 degrees and have everything installed and torqued. there are some new parts invloved but they are jsut washers and coder pins. its all under warranty. My car feels soo good now. more responsive at low gears and NO MORE CLICKING SOUND! also i got to put 1000 miles on a brand new loner altima in a week. LoL

^^ wanna hear more about this

I've got just over 9500 miles on mine and I too in the last two weeks have noticed a funny clunk/loud click, thump sound. :shakes head: It is coming directly from the driver side rear and is random but seem most prevalent between 1 – 3 gears. I thought it was the loose hatch, the sub woofer, suspension, or even the exhaust but all seem tight and fine. I’m almost due for an oil change and wanted to bring this up to my advisor as well as my sticking hatch issue when I drop her off. Please post any info/updates to the bulletin you have – Thanks!

I think it's more or less the same differential so I'm not surprised that people are having the same issue. I had the click problem on the G35, it was a very common issue with the G35 and 350Z.
