For me it was in the early 70s, Georgia. My dad's best friend had a gorgeous yellow 240Z. My seat was always the 'back seat' which I never minded because the ride was worth it every time.

When in high school in the 90s there was a black 300zx that I would see on occasion. I had no idea what it was at the time but I loved that car and dreamed about driving it around all the time. Eventually I figured out what it was and started following the z cars through college, the 350 was out of my price range at the time but after working for a few years I was finally able to have my own Z car and ended up in a 370.

I saw this video posted by the TheTongMan on YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7P2S4GyBIhw
Fell in love with the color and started to do research. Only problem was the color, transmission, and sports package was a rare combination until I finally found one at a (rude) Infiniti dealership
Thanks TongMan

When I didn't see many of them around my parts, I knew I had to own one just to be different.

However, to answer your other question of my first Z memory, it was my test drive at the dealership and looking like a fool not knowing how to put it in reverse.

For me it was the first time I saw a silver 350z and realized it slightly resembled the Audi in iRobot with Will Smith. It was then I knew I had to have one.

My boy had a 300zx ,pain in the *** to work on but a beast. I hated the 350z naturally being an s2000 guy but when I saw the 370z on the streets I thought it looked so tough from the side. I wanted to get out the Honda scene so I tested 30-35 options to get into. No way I was getting into boy racer evo sti, mustang looks do nothing for me. Almost got into g37 lease but wasn't into the looks as much.

Thanks for reading my cool story

My first 370z memory was sitting in a parking lot in 2009 with my best friend, who has very specific taste in cars. He's one to discredit a car over 1 aesthetic feature that he doesn't like.

Anyways, we sat there and saw a black 370 in the distance. We couldn't figure out what it was, so we walked up for a closer view. I said "it's effing beautiful!" and he said "wow, there's not a single thing I don't like." 2 years later, I graduated college, got a job, and bought the first car my best friend and I have ever completely agreed upon.

I remember back in 2003 or 2004. The 350Z was brand new and I saw a white roadster driven by a tennis mom at our pool. I absolutely hated it. The rims, the lack of spoiler, the convertible, the driver. I always chose the Audi TT over the 350Z in video games. I think it was the hideous 03-05 rims that did it for me. Well fast forward to 2008. My buddy was trying to convince me how cool they were and how he was going to buy one. I was hating like usual and he ended up getting it. A black 2006 enthusiast with Nismo rims and exhaust. I sat in it, smelled it, felt it, drove it, and just fell in love. A few months later, I picked up a red 2007 (HR ftw) base. I was in Z heaven and immediately began modding it. Rims, exhaust, K&N, Pioneer HU, tints, etc. I lost her in a hydroplane accident a year later and was heartbroken. I drove around a 1992 camry until I made some money and June 5th 2013, I drove 4 hours into Alabama to pick up my new baby, a Solid Red 2009 370Z Nismo and once again began modding her. Thanks for listening!

Lurker here.. I'd rather hide in the shadows but wanted to share.

I knew I wanted a Z after driving them in Gran Turismo. When I was out for my first test drive with it, the first song I heard on the radio was Katy Perry - E.T.

I ended up not getting that particular Z due to some problems it had but the time period was right as E.T. was getting popular on the radio. Anytime I was out driving, that song was on... haunting me, reminding me of that day I was behind the wheel of a Z. The more I heard it the more I wanted, no, needed to get a Z.

Eventually the stars aligned and I was able to find the Z that fit me perfectly. As I was driving it out of the lot, the first song I put on was E.T.... I'm sure I looked like an idiot.

Anyways... back into the shadows.....

Younger guy here, so no memories of the 240Z or 300ZX. But my first real life memory of the Z was the first day I test drove one. I'd never driven a car that felt nearly as special. Everything just felt right. This was a feeling I didn't get while driving any other car until then, which including our family car a Camry, an Lancer Ralliart, a G37, Golf GTI, Mini Cooper, Mustang GT, Hyundai Genesis 3.8 Track, Accord V6, Altima coupe, Maxima, 135i, RX8 and a first gen Boxter.

This feeling has only been replicated the day I drove a 911 Turbo S, although not nearly to the same extent as when I first took a 370Z out of the dealer lot. It's a feeling I'll never forget.

A buddy of mine in high school had a red Z31. I drove it all the time. I almost bought a blue '86, but it got sold out from under me. I wanted a Z32, but they were new at the time and well out of my price range.

As a child in the late 80s, I saw a black 300ZX Turbo on the street for the first time. I wasn't even into cars yet so I had no idea what it was. It wasn't going fast, just making a left turn on a busy street and we were on the other side. The shape and lines of the car ignited my passion for the Z. In a sea of Tauruses and Accords, the Z32 took the prize. I've been in love ever since.

It would take another 20 years before I could finally own the car of my childhood dreams.

My dad drove an XKE and I wanted one as well. In no way shape, size or form could I have afforded one then, so I bought the Jap copy, a 1978 280Z. A wonderful decision that has allowed me to have a Z story every day for more than thirty years.

Thank you Mr K.
