Went to the lot with intent to purchase a 350, but was swayed to the 370 with 10 miles on the odometer. During the test drive I couldn't help but enjoy everything about it, especially the outward view with the triple gauges. Can't believe it has been three years already and I still enjoy it.

I admired the original 240Z back in 1970. The 260Z and 280Z's became what we used to call "Secretary Specials", i.e. chick cars, especially when they offered them with automatics. The 2+2 was an abomination. Nissan recovered with the 300, lost it again with the 350Z which looks like a sporting version of a PT Cruiser, and recovered their panache with the 370Z. It's my first Z, and I may buy the replacement model if they address the road noise issue, it really does distract from the car being an enjoyable GT for trips and would be an easy fix. Otherwise it may be the next generation G Coupe from Infiniti, as long as it's not as ugly as the current year models which look more like products from Hyundai.

Just after college, right after I started my first real job, I wanted a new '92 300Z. Went to my local dealership and loved it on the test drive. However, at a whopping $27,995 it was out of my budget. So I bought a new '92 Eclipse and patiently waited until a "Z" as a toy was in my budget.

Way back in the 70's when one of the older guys in our neighborhood bought one, loved them ever after and bought my first one (Used 280ZX) in 87. Shortly there after I got a ticket for doing 105 in a 55. Learned to slow my butt down which is why I am still here today.

When my husband and I decided we couldn't (wouldn't) buy a Mustang....started looking for an alternative....Googled Sports Cars 2012/images.
Camaro-nope-back seat Corvette-too expensive Google again ...Sports Cars/2012/under 40000 BAM!! There it was!!! Had NO IDEA i could afford a Z!!!! More research More investgation More looking and talking And remembering...my cool older cousins Datsun when i was in 8th grade...my old managers 300zx....thinking ...maybe, maybe. Looking at spec sheets, comparing. Choosing TWO colors just in case so i would not be disappointed and still be able to bargain. Sigh....year long process! And gawd , the car was EVERYTHING a sports car should be-to me anyway-2 seats-stick shift-rear wheel drive-fat tires-sexy as hell-and who in my area had one?! NOBODY!!! Then i saw Harry in person and it was over for me!!! ^^^^ this-my first memory that counts!!! I love Harry.

Growing up, I had a neighbor who had a 260z & 280z when they were new. Never thought too much about it, but thought they were nice. Then dated a girl in high school that had a ratty black 240z that had one of the worst over-sprayed & runny paint jobs I can remember & she use to go on & on how great her car was when I thought it was a total POS that felt like it was going to rattle itself apart going down the road.
Not the best of memories, but you asked for the first.

It really started with the 90s 300ZX even that I always like the 240 and first gen 280.

When I saw a bunch of nice 350Z's rolling around in Vancouver (Richmond) in the early 2000, I knew I had to get one. It's even better now that the 370Z is so much better than the previous gen.

When the first time I saw my z on autotrader.com I knew I have to get it. And I got it.
My first Z memory is... When I saw a 350z in person back to 2003, I regreted I didn't bring a second pair of underwear.

umm my first Z memory would have to be when I saw DK driving the Z in fast and furious Tokyo Drift.
I was like !! What car is that?! I did some research on google, and Found out that it was a 350Z. However, I only liked DKS because If I recall correctly, it was a nismo with some body kit or something. Eventually I ended up on the NissanUsa Website and I discovered the 370Z! I fell in love right away!!! The interior seemed nice, and the exterior looked so sexy. I would drool over the 370z when I would see one of the street ( I still do, even owning one). At the time, I had just graduated High school, with no job, but I was excited to one day own a 370Z. Eventually, I did get a job, and within the year I bought one . I really wanted the Gun Metal, however, my brother for whatever reason got me to want a white one instead. I would, on occasion, check listings for Z around my area to see what prices were out there. I one day, came across an Ad for a 11' w/ Sport package with only 3k Miles. I thought it was a great deal. The next day, I decided to go check the car out. I was not planning on buying it, but I just wanted to check it out for the heck of it. When I was saw it in person, it looked soooo shiny! There it was, a Magnetic Black 370Z with the sports package (which for me, was a must). Black, was not my first option but I just fell in love with it right there and then.( Funny thing is that debating between Gun metal and Pearl White, I somehow had a feeling I would end up with some other color instead). The guy offered me to test drive it, but I told him I would pass. I came back the next day, and I then took the offer on the test drive. At first I was scared because I had never driven a sports car before, however, I was also very excited! Test drive was awesome, and after like an hour of doing paper work the keys were in my hand! Funny thing is that, when I was test driving the car, they had a couple that was going to test drive the car around 4. When I got back they told me they were also doing some finance paper work etc. So pretty much, whoever pulled the deal on the car first, was theirs to take. I ended up pulling the trigger first, and I could not have been any happier. The other guy, which was trying to work on a deal on the Z, was really really mad that he lost the car to me! LOL The dealership then offered to show him some of the Dodge SRTS or whatever but he did not care for them. haha Driving away from the lot, I had the biggest smile on my face . During the drive home, I had a guy in an STI start to wave his hand at me. At first I thought he wanted to race, I'm like "oh boyy here we go". ( I wasn't interested in racing someone, especially when I just got my car) Anways, he was trying to signal me to roll my window down. Again, I thought he wanted to race so at first I did not bother. Eventually, I gave in. I rolled my windows down, and he said " Dude your car is soooo sickkkkk, my brother had a 350z but he wrecked it". I said, "Thankss I just got it". I then continued on my drive home. When I got home, my sibblings did not know that I had just gotten a Z. To make this short, I gave them all test drives woo! The End LOL |

Back in the early 80s, a buddy of mine tried to unload his perfectly running 240Z to me for free (kid on the way) but I turned him down because I didn't have a place to park it. I still take medications for the trauma of my mistake.
