The part was not defective but it just wasnt the material and shape i expected it to be. It is the Spec-S Sideskirt for the Z34. I've been trying to get in reach with them for a refund but its impossible to get in reach with them through their business phone because they never pick up. Left plenty of voice messages and sent many emails. No replies.

OP,

I hope this all works out for you. In the future I think it's advantageous to provide an actual description of what happened rather than a few brief sentences. If they are scammers and you want to warn folks then it's best to actually let us know what happened. Otherwise, there isn't much to go from and I'm not sure many people will take your post seriously.

Best of luck to you...

From my understanding, you ordered a body kit part that doesn't fit.

Based on what I was able to find out about the company, they deal with REPLICA parts. Replicas (aka 'knockoffs') won't fit like OEM and most likely will need some kind of work to get them to fit properly.

Now if you can provide us with pictures and more information that would better help us all since you're saying the material wasn't what you expected, did you order a CF and received fiberglass? or what happened exactly? Found this link on their website that describes the materials they use.

Shine has been around for quite a while. Their customer service is fine... if you can get a hold of them.

OP, if you're worried about fit and finish, you need to order genuine parts, not replicas.

Expect all replicas to require some work before they mount properly. While there are many replica vendors out there that create a quality product, don't expect all of them to be plug and play.

Shine Auto didn't scam you. You purchased a part and you have a part. They aren't getting back in touch with you, which sucks, but that doesn't constitute "scamming".

Just keep calling and emailing. You'll eventually get someone.

I ordered an entire kit from them for my 350z several years back. Shipping was fast and fitment was about 97% perfect... Granted this was about 4 years ago... Dissapointed to hear this.

"it just wasnt the material and shape i expected it to be''. What did you expect? What did you order in detail? Sounds like you ordered what you wanted and it wasn't whatyou thought.

If so I wouldn't refund either. I've done business with them and there great. Fitment dead on.

I agree with SPOHN...

OP, you need to provide more details and pictures to show the fitment is horrible and impossible to put onto your car. That said, most aftermarket body kits even authentic kits won't fit like OEM. You always need to do some work before you put them onto your car. My advise would be taking them to a professional bodyshop and see what they say about it. As for the material, it's ether fiberglass or polyurethane or carbon fiber. I don't understand why it's not as expected coz you have to choose one of them. Unless the carbon fiber has scratches or damages on it? In any case, I hope you will get hold of shine auto soon and figure things out. Good luck!

Whatever happened to returning a product for a refund if it hasn't been used? What is Shine's refund policy? Maybe items can't be returned? To the OP, in future, you may want to know what a company's refund policy is before you buy.

Agreed - what company doesn't accept returns of unused items??

Companies that make each order custom... many of these places don't keep stock on their shelves. If you make them go through the trouble of creating a new piece just for you, then you don't like it, I don't see why you should expect a refund. That being said, I would hope those companies have very clear return policies, and that customers actually look over them.

If not a custom order and a part that is constantly produced. My belief is that when it’s a final sale its due to poor customer service. A turn and burn, Make a quick buck. A company that is on struggle and can’t afford to lose a sale. This also applies to a company that excepts the refund do to customer providing unused merchandise and receipt but only provides store credit.
