Made a mistake...

Sometimes it's not about the numbers or the best bang for the buck. It's about how it makes you feel when you're in it. Take the new Alfa Romeo Competizione 8C. The car is a disaster in terms of performance numbers and costs a fortune. But the fit and finish is impeccable and the car is the ultimate essence of a true sportscar. The reviews say the exhaust note alone is enough to put a grin on your face and fall in love with it.

I did get to fly up to Detroit during the winter to see the red V10 R8 at the Detroit Auto Show..but it's better from behind the wheel!

This argument can be made for literally anything, including the 370z. Truth be told, why would buy a 370z if NOT for the image it creates?

You can argue performance, amenities, styling, pricing, naming, etc. anyway you would like, BUT...at the end of the day all arguments are this:

"I like/bought vehicle X because its fits ME and because it fits MY image."

The 370z is no different. If you don't believe me, just look at the primary function of a vehicle. It is a way to travel from point A to point B. The only reason people drive different vehicles (also probably the only reason we don't all drive a Ford) is because of persoanl preference. We (as consumers) want the image. We demand the image. So companies give us what we want.

So Jim Ellis is just letting people take this thing out for joy rides? I'd be pissed if I was a serious potential buyer.

EDIT: Scratch that. Just saw the part about you working for Audi. Well actually, on second thought, I'd still be pissed if I was a potential buyer and the dealership just let its employees take the thing out for jollies.

Just getting a chance to check in, I see we have a couple of negative comments...one local kid too.
First, We are required to test drive each vehicle directly after PDI process! I happen to be the guy who wrote up that car for PDI!!
Secondly, This car competes with cars twice it's cost! It is a Space frame vehicle with Aluminum and Magnesium, Magnetic Ride, Dry Sump Oil system, FSI 5.2 liter V10, LED headlights, nappa leather, Bang & Olufson, track DIS, Rear biased Quattro, etc, etc, etc...the list goes on and the price reflects what you get!
Now I've been on forums since 1998 working and there are always folks who can't wait to "chime" in. My question is why, You'll notice I play by the rule if I don't have anything positive to say I don't "Chime" in.
Now there was a request for pics so I obliged, if some egos got hit for that my bad!
We take pride in our work at my dealership...can't speak for other Audi dealers or other Jim Ellis dealers. That's the only reason for this response!!

Now to all others who enjoyed the pics, cheers!!
