For those asking for a Blind Spot Warning System on the Z
Yahoo!
A blind-spot warning (BSW) system can reduce both stress and the risk of a crash by helping you keep tabs on vehicles lurking over your shoulder and out of sight. But until recently, the only way to get one was to invest in a new car. Never ones to miss an opportunity, the ever-vigilant automotive aftermarket has risen to the occasion, and a handful of kits are now available to update almost any vehicle with the technology. And we purchased one to try. The Goshers Blind Spot Detection system includes a sensor for each side of the rear bumper, a left and right side LED warning display, an audible alarm unit, a controller, and all the necessary wiring to link the whole thing together. The suggested retail price is $250; we paid $200 from an online retailer. A Premium model with two more sensors for the front is available for $350. |
That looks really ugly

:icon14: why the wire and the GIANT orange dot...keerist.

I drove on one a Lexus loaner, it looks so much nicer
|
this aftermarket version or just the BSW option?
|
There's no real blind spot if you adjust your side mirrors properly.

+1 above. I have mine adjusted to eliminate the blind spots, and I hardly never have to look over my shoulder when changing lanes.

Like a said elsewhere, this is why a keep a wee-person with a walkie-talkie in the back of my Z. Train them up well and feed occasionally and you can get them to report on traffic hazards behind you.

Early and imperfect. Typically, in a year or two, there will be new and improved versions available that will eliminate the deficiencies noted in the article. Definitely a desirable addition to the Z when perfected.

Not bad, I currently still enjoy feeling like a daredevil though everytime I change lanes lol :)
