z man, DEpointfive0,
I understand how you guys feel. Had a different car brand years ago and it gave me tons of problems, swore I never would purchase another. Years later, gave it a 2nd chance and bought a different model, kept it for 11 years without a hiccup. Bad luck happens to even good people, hope things get better with the Z for the both of you! |

It's not like Honda and Toyota do not have issues. If I recall correctly it was Toyota who had cars that were killing people not so many years ago. Remember the accelerator issue

....the point is, those things are mostly bs to begin with. Every car will have a mechanical issue sooner or later. The problems with the Z are relatively scarce and/or widely known where a fix is available. Just because some journalist marks it as the most reliable car on the planet, doesn't make it indestructible. Also, I think the Camaro has been winning the resale value moniker for this segment for a few years now. A car can achieve a high resale value if a lot of people think it has a high resale value.

Op,
Im very sorry to hear of you're "The Perfect Storm" issues with your Z. I don't think anyone here would blame for feeling the way you do. I could only say that the issue's accumulating on your car is NOT normal sure some will get one or another but dude yours is falling apart. The thing I could say is once you have all your issues fixed you should have a trouble free car. Luck would have it if you decided to give on it, and sell it? The next buyers going to enjoy it since you've already fix the most of issues. Hopefully you get things fixed quickly so you can start enjoy it once again. I know I've been pretty lucky with my Jan 09 build. |

Every once in a while every Make and Model has a Lemon. That is why Lemon Laws exists depending on your state.

That ain't no lie!
My civic was the rattliest car I've ever owned, new or old. My Tacoma's headliner and door skins were coming apart in its first six months. I don't care how long an engine may last if the car's a POS otherwise. |

lol, have to agree with the civic part...my 96 which i currently own sounds like a freaking tin can being dragged down the street when you start it up from a cold start, mostly due to the exhaust rattling the back end of the car until the car warms up a little. Other than that though it does great on gas and the engine is pretty much in pristine condition for a 96 and returns over 40mpg regularly on the highway and a hair over 30 in the city. as for build quality i can't agree at all with what jungle has to say about anything. As for OP, i hope you can get things worked out man, one rotten apple doesnt always spoil the whole barrel is all i have to say.

OP you got lots of feedback from legit members who've been around the forums for a while as well as from those with real life experiences with their cars. The CSC IS annoying but there is a fix. Quite common but it does not make the Z a bad car. There are numerous '09 owners who has had nothing but excellent things to say and have 0 issues. There are many other upgrades mentioned here that will fix it and give you a much greater experience. 5h!t happens you know.....the good news is any 5h!t can be wiped off clean and fixed.
Don't listen to those who shoot generalities about the brand. He's just scorned. Good luck with you and your Z.

Totally sucks, I would have traded it in after it cost me $2k in repairs.
