Gun metallic or red?
 

I need some opinions. I lease a 2011 370z with the sport package, gun metallic, recently I got offered an deal from the same dealer I got the car from that puts me in a 2013 model with $100 less of a monthly payment and no cash out of pocket. Nothing not to like about that.

The question is - do I get another gun metallic, which I really love, or go for red which I've never seen in person but I am sure I'd like? The dealer has found a gun metallic one, but it's a few hundred miles away. The red one is closer so they are trying to sway me that way but I just don't know. Any opinions? Get a different color to try something new or go with what I had?

I love the Gun Metallic. Red isn't my style. I like the idea of changing it up, but I think the Midnight Blue is the only color that I would choose over the Gun Metallic.

The red is nice in person, the only thing is that I feel like the headlights and LEDs on the '13 kind clash....

I saw both recently. The red really stands out if you want to be noticed.

GM is more subtle.

Easy answer: get both.

I'd get a red one since you already had a GM. New color or body style will always get you excited, at least for few days.:tup:

Solid Red or Magma Red? If it is Magma I would choose that over GM. But as JARblue said Midnight Blue would be my choice as well in a '13.

We have way too many colors designated as MB by the way...gets me :confused:

LOL! I'm a she, and yes, I'd agree with that statement. I failed to do my research before walking into the dealership because I was "just looking" but fell in love with the car. I could afford the payment so the next thing I knew, I was driving away in the Z. Nissan is running a special now on Z leases, so I'm getting a better price. I asked them if I could just renegotiate my lease and save everyone the trouble and they said no. But I had to haggle like hell to get them down to where it was worth it to me to switch cars.

I've looked at pics of the red on this forum and it does look nice, and I agree, I have a gun metallic car, so I should switch it up with another color. So I'm going with the red (parking lot accident magnet), and if I don't like it, in three years I can get a different one.

ETA - it's the solid red. I saw the magma red and it looked burnt orangish to me.

Ok. I'm a gun metal guy myself. Last car was gun metal too. Saw a couple of red Zs at another dealer recently and was blown away. Kinda wanted to trade! Lol. Seriously, the red looks awesome on the Z. I just never had good luck with red cars (engines blow up or people run into me) so I steered clear. Haha

naw, dont get silver. silver is not the color you want. get some other color. leave the silver to the kenchan. :icon17:

Not yet...I leased because this is my first "real" sports car (previously had a Celica and before that a Laser, both purchased and both driven for 11 years apiece) and I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep it for 10+ years for a variety of reasons (terrible gas mileage, very little cargo space, can't drive in snow without expensive snow tires, etc.). So I'm "trying it out", so to speak. I do like it so far, it's a ton of fun to drive.

that's funny... a guy down the street leased a new KIA sedan (not sure the name, but size of a camry), came over and asked me wat i thought.

well, being polite, i just said i would've gotten the new accord sedan even if it was a tad more.

guy literally returned the car cause the dealer was giving him some grace period to 'try it out' or something. lol :icon17:

If you want the "fastest" color, go with Red. :D

I love love love my GM. Although I also love the magma red. The magma red gets a little orange hue to it in sunlight. Personal preference, get whatever makes you go "WOW" more:tup:

gun metallic, cops dont see the grey car driving down the road, they see the red one

The Red car and cops thing is real! I got nailed for speeding and i was between two other cars doing the same speed. I get a stare down when passing cops that are just sitting there. A proper sports car color though!

Solid Red. I love it!

I love my red Z. (My plate reads "REDZ4ME). But I'm from the old school---sports cars are meant to be red! Incidentally, I'm careful where and near whom I park, etc. and haven't had any problems of any kind. My car still looks showroom new.

Owned a Gun Metallic myself and quite loved the color. It's one of the best shades of grey I've seen and has a nice metallic shine in the sun.

Solid red is the only color of a 2013 that I would get.

I'd say red. The only grey I like on the Z is the 40th edition grey

You can't go wrong with either color. I ended up getting the gun metallic as my wife preferred it.

Solid red nets you an additional +5 HP. Hottest color for the Z IMO, especially with Nismo wheels and a decent drop.

I love my solid red, always get complements on the color!
