Why no STI? STI can be close or as good as a evo but a million times nicer and best seats I've ever had in a car (for my back and body)! Still tin canny but no where near as bad as the evo. Plus you can't knock the 2.5l. With a few bolt ons, injectors, you're putting 400 tq down to the wheels!!! Evo and 370 can't touch that!

I vote for Nissan Leaf. Reason being is it is the most economical.

Love my Z but went economical, Base and manual. Just could not justify the additional money. My only "must have" was a manual 6, I liked the wheels, do not track, and got an aftermarket, painted rear spoiler for 160.- of ebay which matches perfectly. I test drove the NISMO at the dealer, and did not care for the rev match feature, but most people like it, so I did not want to spend any money on the sport package. Out of the door price was 32k, including tax.
I had a BMW before and bought it fully loaded, every oem navigation system I have seen so far is not worth the 2k more. I will soon however, upgrade the standard ratio to a Pioneer full DIN.

I know a Corvette is faster etc., but after driving a 370Z, I have zero desire for one. This is with full recognition of where said vehicle is clearly superior. Maybe one day a version will come along to change my mind, but for now I'm happier with the Z.

09 Nismo w/20-30k on it = $25k... + Twin Turbos & Tune = $10,000...
$35,000 Total & you are hanging with a GT-R G37 is a nicer, heavier 370z. Evo is fast and AWD, but I am not a fan of interior. All have potential. Nismo is sexiest.

If you can swing it, get the Touring + Sports + Navi. Well worth it. I got Nav because it makes the interior look 10x better than the empty cubby bin and I prefer an OEM look vs an aftermarket double DIN and dash kit. Plus I'm over swapping out stereos and such. As for it being outdated, how's that any different from any other NAV unit? You'll always need t0 update maps. Besides, I didn't get mine for the actual nav function, I just liked how it integrated everything else.
If you're not going to get the nav, then just get the sports. I don't think there's enough difference between a sport and a Touring + Sports to justify it. |

Aftermarket on the other hand does not need to go through the same reliability and certifications that the OE ones do because they are not form factor specific. They are able to provide the latest entertainment solutions that some OEM cars STILL do not provide (cadillac is a stellar example of this) So it's not just the maps that are outdated; the entire unit is a relic even when it hits showroom floors. Now maybe you're not interested in all the latest capabilities that after market solutions offer; and that's fine. This is just to explain to you why OEM HUs are outdated from the get go. Your inability to transition to a new HU is also an issue with nissan specifically (if you have the OEM nav).

That is true, I guess its what your after. I don't use any special features outside of the streaming bluetooth audio which the OEM one does just fine. Aftermarket solutions just look cheap to me but you are right, not having the nav gives you that flexibility to swap in the latest and greatest. I guess I'm just old and not with the times. Even the oem has all these features I don't use but again its what youre after. I got the nav to have a better looking interior.
Out of curiosity, because I've been out of the car audio game for 6-7 years now, what do these after market solutions offer today thats so great and above and beyond a system like say fords sync, cadillac cue, or the nissan/honda connect systems? Cost aside obviously. |

Car manufacturers are selling cars with stereos as an add on, while stereo manufacturers are selling stereos. Stereo folks have a stronger incentive to innovate and update. I find their products to be more up to date and more sophisticated. I have toyota's Entune system in my 4runner and it is way behind my Z's Appradio. |

That doesn't really explain much other than your opinion. Im not disagreeing with you but how is it better and more sophisticated? What makes your aftermarket unit so ahead of the oem entune?

the info you guys are giving me is helping me, the evo did catch my eye but touring evo is gonna cost me 40k+ but the interior is just not worth it. im going to go with 2013 touring sports package with navi. the interior will look great with the navi add on. im into more of a sporty stylish look and 370z is sleek and sexy. it makes peoples head turn and its a beautiful car. im going to drop about 15-20k as down payment so my monthly cost will be around 350ish or even lower. i don't have a garage so itll be kept under a cover. my honda coupe will be used in winter / rainy days. 370z will be taken out on nice sunny days and weekends.
guys thanks for the info. |

These days none or very few have full audio sound control (i forget what the actual name is called - lets the user manually adjust lows, highs, and everything in between), OTA video mirroring, expandable hard drives, user interface customization, and other things I'm sure I'm forgetting. Futurewise I can see the possibility of some HU manufacturers moving towards app driven platforms like android. Yes I'm aware China is doing it but I'm talking about major HU manufacturers not ebay and alibaba brands. The possibility of requiring a SIM card or something or piggybacking off of your phone's internet connection is also a possibility. Something that will take the OE market years to catch up to.
