Advice: What color combo?
Finally ready to get a Z, and I thought I was set on Monterey Blue w/ grey leather. Then I became indifferent between grey and black leather.
Now, after getting various opinions on MB vs. Platinum Graphite, many people prefer PG as it looks "more expensive", and MB might be a color I'd get tired of (even though that's not true!). The only way I'd get PG is with persimmon leather, as I love this combo. So, I post this poll hoping to get insight into what the more experienced Z guys think. I've been influenced by this community for the last 7 months and this will certainly be the most influencial piece of advice yet. So, what's the favorite color combo, if you had to choose one of the three?? Last edited by IHas370Z?; 07-28-2009 at 06:06 PM. |

Have you considered MB with the persimmon leather? I really like that combo.
Whatever color you choose, MB or PG, I would get that persommon interior. It's classic a sports car interior color. As far as exterior I like the MB. It stands out, and I think this car is meant to stand out.

whats up fly yellow, yea I remember about a month ago you told me to think about that combo. I don't think it's for me, though I don't doubt it's nice. Just will always make me think I had a car sponsored by the Florida Gators, lol.

Oh yeah. I remember that. Well if you ain't a Gator, you're Gator bait. I'll put my vote in for the blue and grey then.

Just came back from the dealer, and man I am TORN. They said they have found each of the three combos I have listed, though very few. I love the blue when the sun hits it but I'm unsure about it when it's darker out. I love PG too but have not seen persimmon leather in person, which worries me. I'm starting to think that blue may be a color to grow tired of, but same goes for persimmon, lol. SOOOOO confused. Any advice is appreciated.

I really really really really (I think you get the point) wanted the Frost leather with my Prussian (Montery - always reminds me of a sandwich) Blue. I ended up finding the exact car I wanted (PB 6MT Sports no Nav) but it had the black interior. I figured the possibility of having to wait up to seven months (poor NXTAZEE!) to get my car I could live with the black. After talking about the Frost with a few different people I'm pretty happy with the black as the Frost is tough to keep clean. I'm pretty careful and keep my car cleaned regularly but a stain would drive me nuts should it ever happen. I like the looks of the Frost best BUT I'd rather have black if either ever had a stain.... I'll bet the worst place will be the passenger door panel....
I thought about the Persimion with the Blue (even though its not an option here) because I really like that colour for the interior but I'd have to see it in real life with the Blue to give it a nod.

Never said I wanted MB so much, I did but became unsure of it recently. If I did get MB, it would be with grey or possibly black. The only way I want persimmon is with PG.
I'm actually leaning towards PG which is hard for myself to believe considering how sure I was that I was getting MB. I think it photographs great but for some reason seeing it in person changed my mind a bit. Thanks again for the help guys. |

My first choice isn't up there so I'll write it in.
Black with persimmon leather, 6-spd, loaded Touring/Sport. Second choice would be Platinum Graphite or Chicane Yellow (with blacked out tail lights). |
