That Supra render is tight and pretty convincing.

Definite strong possibility that this could be the next Z. The 350Z was well covered in Gran Turismo from concept to production.
The only wrench in the gears is the fact that it's not always a Nissan as the "hero" car on the cover.

On a side note, Gran Turismo 1 has similar cover art, and til this day nobody knows exactly what it is. What is the car on the cover? - GTPlanet Forums

Pretty sure that one is an r32.

Definitely not a camaro. Front and rear overhangs are too short to be a camaro. The roofline, deck lid, and spoiler of the covered car are pretty well defined and scream r32.

how many if you would trade up for the new model right away?
if it catches your taste on looks and performance. Or would you rather wait 1-2 years into the new design? |

After buying two first model year cars in a row I've decided not to do that again. I think, if you can handle being patient, it's smart to wait a little bit. Manufacturers inevitably work out first model year kinks and/or add new features to subsequent model years.

Whatever is under that sheet is too long in the tooth to be a BRZ/FRS or anything with an N/A inline four. (an inline four with turbo hardware could necessitate more space).
The arched fenders (front AND rear) look like something that is styled a bit more upmarket. The Z would be the lowest end of the spectrum I could see being under that sheet. I'm truly hoping it is the next Z. That would mean Nissan is actually going to market this one (although they did debut the 370 in that turd bucket of a Need for Speed game - GT6 will be a much bigger game than any NFS title). All the call signs are there. The GT Academy where Nissan is THE name on it. The timing - a console launch (even though this is PS3, it will definitely be ported to PS4) on top of a major Nismo rebranding (however dull to date) on top of a scheduled and heavily discussed model revision. Unless Toyota is going to sneak attack with the Supra (I think Nissan would be very sour after the GT Academy work), I really see this being a Nissan/Infiniti product of a sort. Could be the new Q60 to try and get Infiniti some brand exposure. The smartest thing here is the Z concept. I will watch closely. |

If they're doing a Q60 IPL (not saying you're wrong or right - I don't know what the plan is for that car and I haven't really researched), it will definitely be a 2015 model at the earliest, and the press kits for the 2014 Q60 I've seen show the current G37 coupe with a rebadge. From what I understand, this is right on schedule. That said, I'd love an Infiniti curve ball, but I still think the Z is the best bet since the Leno thing last year showed that they are at minimum down to a body design by now. |
