You did great! Nothing wrong for sacrificing something for the greater good of the whole. Many of us did. Work hard, keep your priorities in order and save some money at the same time for the Z will return. Best wishes to you!!!

So... she just increased her standard of living 4-fold, and got you to trade in your sports car, and give her a shiny new SUV, and you feel good about this? Damn. That's a lot of wealth to just hand over to someone. Wait sorry, I meant share.

If that is how you want to look at it. You mad bro? I'm a little old school I guess. The man does his job and the woman does hers. She cooks, cleans, does my laundry, and will give birth to my children. I'm cool with getting her a nice truck. ![]() And i'm also excited to get back into another GSX. MHI turbo's for that thing are $1k, not 7k for a turbo kit. I'll post it up when I find a clean one.

I'm getting married later this year. Her Xterra is paid off. My Z i own ~9K on. I only have my children every other weekend so we have a family car when we need it and a sports car when its just us. I told her as soon as we got together that I was not trading in my car. She actually likes it. She says it makes her feel young and free again to just be me and her zipping around in a sports car when we don't have my kids.
Grats on the marriage bro. Sucks about the Z but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I understand completely. |

smart decision, what it boils down to:
house > car but once you have your regular note payment and get your finances settled down, it's surprising to find a bit of money here and there. well, at least it was for me. at which point hopefully you'll be able to get back into a car you'll actually enjoy driving. |

Couldn't justify the SRT8?
Daily driver DSM? Do you own a lot of tools?

SRT8 is SICK, but I couldn't justify the 65k price tag. (or afford it) ![]() Yes, I do own a lot of tools. I enjoy wrenching. I've owned two prior DSM's and two Evo's. I'm a mitsu nut. (well, till the Z rolled around in my life) My 97 GSX had 160k miles on the chassis and stock block when I was running 12.0's in the quarter all while being my daily driver through college. As long as its taken care of and modded with the right parts, those cars are good. Its a shame that most owners these days are douchebags and the cars are whored out more than civics. I'm in no rush to buy. I'd rather wait for that diamond in the rough.
