However much it costs for the oil + crush washer + filter.

$60? give or take.

and also, why Nismo specifically? Is there a difference?

That is standard pricing from a dealer. I usually pay $89 when I take it to a dealer. Make sure they know to use synthetic and you can actually ask them for the different types they offer.

I know they have an off brand synthetic thats a bit cheaper then the mobile 1 they usually put in.

Anywhere you go, itll be $75-120

I do my own. Whatever it costs for oil ( redline ), filter, crush washer, and greddy magnetic drain plug.

Chuck33079 06-13-2013 09:09 AM

$63 for the Redline oil change kit (6qts) from Z1. Do it yourself. There's no reason to pay a dealer for an oil change. It's just pissing money away. And there's no difference between the Nismo and regular 370 as far as oil changes.

I also spring for the oil analysis from Blackstone Labs every time, so that's another $25 or so.

Lol , thanks guys

if you do it on your own should cost no more than $35.

if you dont know how, then i guess you have no choice but to pay the dealer. i highly not recommend taking it to quick lube places cause there are screws to be removed on the bottom splash cover. they will either loose the screws, use the wrong screws from another car and cross thread, over torque them, under torque them, etc.

Depends on the type of oil. And if one doesn't know how to change the oil in their car, learn.

The dealers I am familiar with charge $80-$100 for a Nismo oil change because they use the Nissan Ester oil. They charge more like $60ish for non-Nismo Z and use cheaper oil.

I pick up a 5 qt jug of Mobil 1 for $25 at Wal-Mart. Add another $10 or so for the filter and a $1 for the crush washer, and you're looking at a DIY oil change for <$40 (not including the tools to perform the change, of course).

Regular oil, it's always on sale from $30-40, then synthetic usually runs $55-70 on sale. Then Nissan Ester oil $80-120 depending on how bent over you are

Is there a difference between just using Mobil 1 and synthetic/ester? Like can regular oil cause damage eventually or quicker?

kenchan 06-13-2013 03:08 PM

ive been using mobil1 silver cap in my Z and G for many years. no issue.
