To be accurate, the HR engine doesn't have a "limp" mode if the oil temp gets above a certain point. Nissan discovered that they were having bearing issues when the oil temp went about 300 (due to the materials of their bearings being changed a few years back) so installed the limp mode to compensate. Haven't really seen a good study on HR oil temps under stress yet.

I've only seen one 370Z on the road since being back from Zdayz. We ended up talking for about fifteen minutes at a rest area.

No 370Z hate from this 350Z owner.

I, myself, have no shame when I give someone props for driving a nice car in a world where 100hp priuses rule the world...someday...we may never see a lot of these sports cars due to CAFE regulations...i think going on a 370z forum and bashing the Z while being a bmw owner is pretty insecure to me..much more than waving...you should quit sippin that haterade, go back to bimmerforums and should cyberwave your fellow bmw owners...cuz it seems like you are too insecure to do it in public

Its simply a difference between an enthusiast and a poser. Enthusiast love their cars (and others) - posers drive a status symbol (or peni$ extension). Doesn't matter what vehicle it is - its the person driving it.

That would be kind of awkward if you did have 370Z hate, you know considering you're a moderator for a 370Z website...

I am trying to install some Oil Temp and water temp gauges in my NISMO before I go to the track again, but with my time lately I haven't gotten around to working on that. I want to install it before the oil cooler to see what temps the HR gets up too. But I know from one guy he said his never got above 240 on the track.

There is only 1 model of Z car every year. How many models does BMW put out on a yearly basis. The Z community is much smaller than the BMW community. If I waved at every BMW on my 13 mile trip home every day I would probably wave half a dozen times. I do wave at all the Z's I see, granted I got my Z at the end of March and have waved less than 6 times over the last almost 4 months.

I belong to a Z car club in Rochester NY and currently my dad and I are the only 2 370's in the club. Every single owner in the club is great and during our monthly meets and events always talk. They love the car, especially the 350 guys. Many of them have 350 roadsters and are waiting for the 370 roadster. Even the old guys with the 240's and 280's love the car and the fact it looks more like the original than the 350 does. I personally like the 350 but would not have bought one. I don't like the back up lights and the side markers on the front bumper, they just look out of place to me(I am all about integrated front and rear lights). All the Z's are nice cars and some look nicer than others, it's all about the work people put into them and the pride they have driving what they own.

On another note I don't street race per say but I do enjoy a spirited jump on the accelerator when someone pulls up and revs me. Since I have bought my Z noone has revved me. Again I'm not going 60-70 in a 30 but I'll get up to speed quick when someone feels their civic or celica or the like wants to play.

My friend has done a few HPDE's in his bolt-on '07 350z. He hasn't done any datalogging (Uprev's Cipher software) yet on the track but he's seen as high as 230's on the street already.
