Default Houston......we have a problem!

On my way driving to work this morning, I've encountered my first problem I ever had with my 370Z. I was going about 55 mph, a steady speed on our local road, my Service Engine Soon light starts blinking. I figured it was just my warning indicator that it's due for service, which it is. I have 32k miles on it. But a few minutes later, I lost power for a few seconds. It was very odd. No red lights came on so it didn't stall, it just had no acceleration when I pushed the gas pedal down....nothing! After a few more seconds, it seemed to catch again and was fine for a few more minutes until it happened again. Once again it caught again and not wanting to take any chances, I drove it straight to my Nissan dealer fortunately not far away. It is there now as I speak and I'm waiting for a call to see what's up. They also told me that there was a recall on it (not the Steering Lock issue) which they will look into. I never received anything from Nissan about any other recall. So I turn to you my brothers for any thoughts on what it might be. I'll update this after I hear back from the dealers when I find out what the problem is.

Nissan never even called me concerning the steering lock. I don't like the way Nissan manages recalls when it comes to the Z. Never had problems with other models from nissan in terms of TSB/Recalls. It's like the dealers want to pretend the 370 recalls aren't there for whatever reason???

Well keep us posted on your situation. Hope it's nothing to serious?

Thanks! You're right about Nissan. Even the service mgr this morning told me that Nissan is terrible about notifying owners about recalls! Not good!

Mine lost power and stuttered for a couple seconds yesterday, but it came back. That was due to me having a half tank of fuel and taking a right-turn on-ramp to the freeway. Almost fuel starve. By your original post I'm sure this is not your issue, so I am interested to see if the "knowledgeable" service techs can figure out your problem.

Hmmmm! That's what mine did too, a couple of times. I also had a half tank of gas but was going perfectly straight at the time. I hear ya....They BEST be knowledgeable! I was a little bit nervous talking to the Service Mgr when I told him that I also had the "dreaded steering lock" issue which was repaired and he looked at me not knowing what that was at least at first. Then after a few seconds he said...."ya, I think I've heard of that before". Oh geez.......here we go!!!!!

I was just at the dealer to get an A/C line fixed and the steering lock (they didn't have the right part..) and it took them over 4 hours to figure out how to get my car on a lift. It's only on Swift springs. Gosh, I get such anxiety at the dealer. Best of luck to you!
Here's a pic I took as I watched them stare at the car for hours...
6spd, onzedge and 1st like this.

just like fuel starvation, but not in a straight line unless he just came out of a long or hard right hander.

I hope it is as simple as this.

Thanks! I get that same anxiety so I hear ya. Especially since the OP a while back who posted about the service techs who took his Z out to do a pick up at McDonalds. Ouch!!!

By the way.....your Z still looks great even in the garage! Another reminder of how much I wish I had the back spoiler on mine.

The dealership just called and they won't be able to look at it today so hopefully I'll know something tomorrow. No big deal as they have given me a loaner.....a 2012 Mini Pooper with A/T....

I wouldn't sell you a roll of sh*t paper.....after all the warranty claims I'd get it would put me out of business.
