Default Blind Spot Indicators

When is Nissan going to put blind spot indicator sensors on the side view mirrors on the Z? I think it's a pretty fair assupmtion that we all agree that our Zs have a serious blind spot which is hazardous at best when changing lanes. I had a MazdaSpeed3 which had blind spot indicators and although it wasn't neccessary on a 4 door hatch, it was still great to have. On a Z, I would think that it would be as necessary as signal lights and brake lights. Anybody hear of the possibility of Nissan making it available on future Zs?

They should....as well as making the rear view camera a standard. You can't see a car when it's right on your passenger side rear corner. I've solved this by driving faster....for safety purposes.

It may be a possibility considering the insane level of safety features on the Q50... The Z's blind spots can all be conquered with proper seat adjustment and extra caution. But I do concur that our side mirrors are too wide and cause a blind spot. If we don't make the proper adjustments. It can be a hazardous situation.

I dunno about everyone, but I actually turn my head and move a bit to clear my blindspots when I've not paid close attention to those around me.

It does help to signal any lane changes or movements. We get a nice indicator on the side of the car for others to be warned and scream or honk at us.

I use convex mirrors. Also helps with backing up without a backup camera.

We do have a blind spot.
I do the same head turning. I use convex mirrors and I doubt Nissan will address this in the Z34 Z.

Even if they did I would still be driving mine with a lessor safety level as I'm not selling over this.

I've almost sprained my neck Turning it so much when I switch lanes everytime, I've learned to deal with blind spots on a good seating position but dam I've had some close encounters.

While it is true proper mirror adjustment eliminates the problem, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that got the mirrors for added safety (and so I didn't have to head-bob on every lane change).

I tried several types and have moved away from the round ones in favor of the rectangular ones - more efficient use of space. The backup camera also helps to take a peek behind as well (if you have one you can turn on and off w/o going into reverse).

After looking into side view cameras actuated by turn signals, I found that it is entirely possible but enough of a pain that I have given the notion up indefinitely.

Of course there is the philosophy of the Italian driver in Cannonball: "What isa behind me is not ina fronta me, what isa behind me isa not important!"

I have my rear view and side mirrors perfectly placed for lane changing. Never had a problem. The mirrors in front are so big. On occasion, they give me issues looking out front at the quarter angles.

the blind spots are terrible, but ive actually found the mirrors themselves blocking my view in front (and to the right/left) of the car. When I first got the car, there were a couple of close calls when making left turns where a car was completely covered up by the right side mirror. now ive learned to sit up to see over the side mirrors just in case (im 5'6").
