09 in cabin filter wasn't standard and nav resolution was weak.

2010, heated mirrors were added and brighter nav, 40th introduced as well as convert. trunk cover brackets were standard.

Suspension spring rates actually changed in 2011. The dealer maintenance spec sheet showed the difference and every mechanic in my dealer asked me how did the 2011 feel to me. The suspension felt slightly softer and went over bumps better compared to my 09. My 09's stiffness inspired more confidence.

In 2013, they followed up with the sifter springs with "euro shocks", making the Z even softer.

2012 brought the oil cooler.

2013 brought the refrshed grille and wheels.

Car is unlocked but fuel tank lid still won't release when pushed in.

Sounds like the latch solenoid is not working. Check connectors and fuses.

Just to be sure you are unlocking properly (pg 3-18 of 2009 Owner's Manual):
To open the fuel-filler door, unlock the fuel-filler door by using one of the following operations, then push the left side of the door.
. Push the door handle request switch with the Intelligent Key carried with you.
. Push the UNLOCK button on the Intelligent Key.
. Insert the mechanical key into the door lock cylinder and turn it to the rear of the vehicle.
. Push the power door lock switch to the UNLOCK position.

At some point (2011 I think?) they added the rear camera option. iirc that wasn't originally available.

I guess nobody has noticed that 09 shift knob is slightly different than the newer ones. But guess nobody would care. Here is the 09 nismo shift knob(left) vs 13 nismo shift knob(right).

get a 2011 because no steering lock problems and i have been told by several people at nissan and stillen that the 2011 has the best suspension out of all 370z years(or it could be just the nismo suspension, im not entirely sure)

id also recommend getting a nismo 370z because nismo 370zs are sexy as hell and the nismo suspension is even better than the stock 370z suspension

could the 2009 one just look more polished/smooth/shiny due to use?

I was thinking the same thing

That or the fact that they are different years means that the material (leather) would have come from a different batch(animal) so the materials will be slightly different. Anything like that will be slightly different between runs they can only make so many pieces out of one hide and hide to hide will vary in what the leather looks like on the parts.

I am noticing more the location of the shift map that is different...

although I find it interested that the 09 one is the one with more of a sheen, while the 13 one seems almost matte.

Sorry I should have stated what the difference is. JARblue is right. It's the location of the shift map is different.

And my old 09 shift knob does look more polished/shiny. So is the leather on the steering wheel. Not sure if that is because of the different leather material nissan used or because of the interior detailing made them shinier. Or maybe just because of my greasy hands.
