2013 7 auto vs Dodge ram ..Hemi engine? Bro-inlaw says he can take the Z..

I HAVE A BROTHER INLAW THAT CLAIMS THAT HIS DODGE RAM WITH A HEMI AND AN AFTERMARKET FLOWMASTER MUFFLER CAN BEAT THE 370Z,,,WHAT DO YOU GUYS THIN?HE SAYS THAT WITH THE FLOWMASTER HE'S GOT CLOSE TO 500HP? I THINK HE'S DREAMING...FOR LACK OF BETTER WORDS..
THIS I KNOW BECUASE HE ALSO THINKS HE CAN RACE NEXT TO ME OR TAKE ME ON MY 08 Z06 VETTE....ANY WAYS I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF IT WERE TO GO DOWN ON THE NISSAN IF I CAN TAKE HIM ..I KNOW ON THE Z06 IT'S NOT PROBLEM..BUT SOME THIMES I JUST WANT TO SHUT HIM UP and tell him to put his money where his mouth is>>>ANY INSIGHT ON THE HEMI ENGINES?? ARE THEY QUICK ON A RAM PICK UP 4 DOORS??:ughdance:

He can probably beat the Z in the towing capacity for sure.

If its just a hemi with mufflers no way lol

edub370 06-06-2013 03:08 PM

not a chance in freaking hell. your brother is mistaking sound for speed.

i'll put $100 saying he's making < 350hp to the wheels.

fwiw: most engines in cars are hemi heads now a days. dodge is the only one still stamping this 1960's trend on the side of their vehicles

3pitbulls 06-06-2013 03:13 PM

That's what i thought,he thinks just by adding sound it makes a car faster..but it's annoying ..now his wife it's telling everyone that their hemi truck is faster than the z06 and the z....

why dont u tell him to take it to the dyno and prove his claimed hp numbers, and take it to the track so he can get his heart broken lol

I got a Dodge Power Wagon with a Hemi, and a Grand Cherokee with a Hemi. Ain't no f!@#king way the truck will touch my Nismo. The Grand Cherokee will get it coming out of the hole, and that's about it.

What style RAM (1500...etc) and what year?

FYI...A 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 with Hemi:

0-60: 4.6 seconds
1/4: 13.3 seconds

Exactly exactly, down here in TX these guys put those loud exhaust on those hickmobiles and try to show out. Just a bunch of noise and smoke but barely moving....:eekdance: Original poster he must be on something whack to even mention the Z06....

speedfreek 06-06-2013 03:49 PM

Tell him the only thing he has a chance of beating is the Tundra. That would be a closer race.

DR_ 06-06-2013 04:00 PM

Wait, isn't his wife your sister? Tell her to shut her hoe *** mouth or you will tell him what a slut she was back in high school. And tell him to go pick on some Hondas if he wants to win a race.
