370z Manufactured Where?
Tried a search here to no avail.
A person is interested in buying a 370z from the US and bringing to Canada. If the car is manufactured somewhere other than the US or Mexico they have to pay duties..... 6.1% to be exact.... ouch! The window sticker says final assembly plant was Norfolk, Va... does that mean manufactured in the USA? Thanks. |
Norfolk is the east coast port of entry....from Japan

made is Japan...lol

If you buy it from an exporter in the US then you would not need to pay the sales tax ex. it's 8%(please correct me if I'm wrong) in CA so if you pay 6.1% import duty you're still ahead. The guys over at BRAMIC, LLC. - Home can help you out if you plan on importing a car from the US. They were great to work with. They helped me with my Z.

Designed by a Canadian and made in Japan. Why not buy in Canada (other than having to wait for the 2010). I suspect it will still cost more to import than buying here in Canada.... even with the dollar as strong as it is and gaining....

i believe his Z was sold on eBay or something....right??

The gentleman from Calgary bought the car from me, he said he could not touch a new one fully optioned there for under $50,000 Canadian. He flew to DC to drive it back 2000 miles.
By the way we found out the easiest way to tell country of manufacture is the first char of the VIN. J..... Japan. Thanks for the replys! |
