I've enjoyed my time owning a few Mitsubishis. They are not bad cars, but definitely aren't the best either. I'm sure I'll have no regrets when I get my Z.

I am on the verge of either picking up a Z or ordering one, and the deciding factor for me was More NA power, and better looks. You also have yo remember that the EVO is a 4 seater. Will you need the extra seats for anything?

As a former owner of three Mitsubishi cars and three Nissan cars, there is no question who is more reliable at the moment to me. It's Nissan and they aren't even in the same league (again to me). This is not something I cared about though.
The reason I didn't give evo much chance is because of looks. I looked at the two cars and prefered z, and after I looked at the numbers it was a no brainer for me. |

Well, I looked at a lot of great cars, that are only 2 door coupes, because I am not interested in 4 door sport cars. I test drove a few, like the Infiniti G37S and BMW 135i. But, I chose the Nissan 370Z because it has a lot more personality to it and it's also very rare. There are a ton of G37S's in Toronto.

I had my heart set on buying a Evo X for the longest time. Although it's probably one of the uglyest car's around, it still had that cool factor. But when the 370z came out with a better price and more horsepower and the gorgeous looks... I was sold. Plus if your a speed guy... Top Gear just tested the 370z and it beat out the Evo X around the track. So in my opinion (obviously) the 370z is the way to go.
*Edit: As information, my car before the 370z was a 02' Eclipse GT. So I have first hand experience's with mitsubishi's and I am so glad I made the jump to Nissan Last edited by Cyberium; 07-27-2009 at 05:27 PM. |

i like the performance cost aspect of the evo but i view it as a younger persons car, basic with a great motor, the z for me has great looks and a n/a v6 motor, much better interior especally the touring,my 2 cents

I didn't have a EVO but I just sold my 09 Ralliart for the Z. The quality of the interior is leaps and bounds above the Lancer/Ralliart/EVO, even if you get the basic interior z. The ride is better also. My ralliart took corners like a dream but it sure did make some small bumps feel like large ones.
For me the Z is a good trade off from maneuverability to HP. The z is tons faster then my rallliart and its supposed to be a bit faster then the X. If it were me and I didn't need the back seats the Z would be a no brainier. Ultimately I would go with the one you find more appealing and not worry about what anyone in this forum has to say about the EVO or the Z. Having said that, GET THE Z! |

thanks everyone for the input..im guessing the z community isnt much for mods or upgrades?my thing about the your NA hp rating is that a tune on a 4Cyl. evo will be above 330 z hp(75 hp at crank or 50 at wheels)and basic bolt-on get you close to 400hp...anyone running forced induction on their 370? i didn notice that the turbo kits cost almost 10grand whoa!! thats alot...any vortec prochargers out there?

and where is everyone getting their false assumptions that nissan is more reliable than mitsubishi?....i too have been a mechanic for over 5 years now and they are the SAME if anything, and the only reason i have seen either for any great amount of work is when people let the timing belt break after 150k miles, if anything nissan has more electrical related problems.

sorry dude, but ur mitsu still looses, twin turbo the 370z will put it well over the 500 range and depending on the setup maybe 700? was someone also saying 1000 is possible
we each have our opinions and since u're biased towards mitsu, well maybe u should stick with it, not saying u shouldn't buy a z, but u don't seem welling to take in other people's opinions

yea 500 hp for ten grand!!..5 g's on and evo with hta gt 35r fp turbo kit and your close to 600 with the right setup(link at the bottom)..iv seen almost 800 on race gas in the ix's..this is one of the main thigs thats keeping me from getting a z...right now im trying to justify buying either car and i wish the z was winning but its not...i like the 2 door sports car (i have a 1g eclipse with bolt on's in the 12's right now) and the driving position. i have always said nissan builds the best 6 cyl. engines and mitsu the best 4 cyl...they both make great hp..i am driving up to grand rapids to test drive a 370 today so ill have to see
