At least he explained and demonstrated SRM correctly . I'm tired of hearing SRM "blips the throttle" from everyone one else who reviews the feature. Unless I'm wrong on the definition of "blip". To me, it's the same as saying "goose the throttle", as in an instantaneuos press and release, and that's not what it does.

My first "real" car was an E36 M3, so I understand the love of bimmers. You have to realize, the Z is a pure sports car. It will always be faster around a track and more exciting to drive, where as the BMW offers a blend of luxury and performance which we all know is legendary. As someone who has been to racing school and takes part in any track event I can, the Syncro rev is a nice feature. Take it from Tiff, who is more accomplished as a driver, than anyone you or I will ever meet, he also found it a brilliant piece of technology. Do you even drive a stick? Also, the cars you test drove our all luxury cars, not sports cars like the Z. Also, judging by the nameplates, status is overly important for you, so leave the pure sports car to people who can appreciate them. Dangerous thing to mention your "600 in mods". You do realize the difference in the price of the cars will finance a 500 rwhp Z with other fun bits thrown on. Your *35 is pretty much limited to chipping. Enjoy your car, it is a different car for a different person. Styling is subjective, I could say BMW hasn't made anything sexy since the arrival of Bangal, I could say your front end looks like a Pontiac.. I could say lots, but I will say you own a fine car, there is no need to be so defensive. |

But I don't remember anything wrong about the 2004 350z I used to own and I'm sure I won't find anything strange on the 370. Fartson's not talking about strange noises in the cockpit, he talks about the engine noise itself; and he says "it's not a good noise". What's the point of that?? He's just his opinion, but it seems he wants to take down the car just for that because he hates it. That's what he does with other good cars and I really don't like it. I'll tell you what: have you ever test-drove an S2000? If not, try it and than find the old Top Gear convertibles comparison test he made: he had NOTHING to say about the huge variety of noises the S2000 makes! |

The ONLY cars to date BMW has I would consider is the E92 M3 and possibly a used Z4M (that car is saweet!). However, the E92 M3 = too much $ for what you get (I don't care about 'status', to me the whole status thing is for people not completely comfortable with who they really are). That said, BMW is in my top three 'sport/race' car automakers. So, I say all the above as an avid BMW fan; I just would not drive one. Then again the 2014 1 series M may be cool if it stays to what they say it will be - 2900 pounds, 300 HP, twin turbo 4. OH YEAH!! And, I still cannot quite find what is so horrible about the Z's sounds... Call me crazy, but I kind of like that rough mechnical sound. Remeinds me of a Gundum or a hard core Japanese robot.... Then again: To Each His Own. |

Fuel pump problems, transmission problems, over heating problems, I-Drive issues, oil consuming problems, rear main seal leaks, run flat tire problems, etc. etc. etc. Things I don't want to have to deal with in a $40,000 car. But its not suprising as german cars generally don't rank to high on long term reliability tests... And don't act like your BMWs power is impressive for 2009....Nissan made a 300HP twin turbo 6 cyl too...two actually...20 years ago in 1989.....and the VG30DETT/RB26DETT are much more durable/responsive motors then then one in your much newer BMW. |

Do you know what a "Napoleon complex" is? If not, it means you have thin skin and you get bent out of shape from trivial slights. Napoleon used to have those killed who he felt slighted his fragile ego. OK dude, 370 has "teenager like styling, shitty interior and MAD UBER SYNCHRO REV MATCH for idiots that can't drive"...fine with me. This past weekend, my ex g/f and some of her female friends were over at my house. Anyways, one of my ex's friends asked me what kind of car was in the garage (my 370). I told her, and she immediately starting saying it wasn't as good looking as her b/f's 350Z. I smiled and said something like, "yeah, the 350 is a great car." |
