Boost your z is the only way to beat the 2 cars you brought up.

370z really doesnt have to much improvement if the build is going to be all motor. The displacement is to small. Turbo would be your only option. But your gunna have to beef up your block either way. You'll be a ticking time bomb for a part here or there if you don't beef up the rest of the parts to compensate for the power output. You gotta pay to play.

Serious question, would it be the most reliable FI solution?

Not to trash you at all OP, but I think this may be in response to you getting your feelings hurt either racing these vehicles and getting smoked or somebody that owns them was running their mouth and you got offended. By the tone of your question I can tell that you're young. Relax....it's just pride f-ing with you. Stop focusing on what cars you can beat and have fun with what you have. When you have a few bucks for mods then get them, stop trying to compete. FI is the only way to be somewhat confident against some of these cars, all it takes is money and time. There will always be someone/something out there that will smoke you.

Once again, this is not to trash you. It's just that I've been there.

On the street dont let your ego get in your way of enjoying your car. The Z really is a great car but it's not the fastest. Fast enough to be fun to drive though. Buy a track only car, build the crap out of it and take it out to your local strip and tear it up! Build it a little more between each time you take it out and watch how it as well as your drving skills progress. You will enjoy that much more than trying to beat some douche in an M3 or IF-S on the street.
