You dont know how much pride the owner has in his car, so you don't want to scratch the car that has the most prideful owner thats ever come into your shop. you've gotta be a ******* idiot to think "your being overly protective" , did that dipwad ever go to school to become a mechanic?? work your way up to arguing with the GM. |

I'm starting to side with the dealer on this one lol. I think you need to buy a big clear plastic box and put your car in it...and never drive it again. I mean...come on. Not trying to be an a$$ here..but |

Actually, I drive my cars pretty hard and use them for the purpose they were made for.
Don't get me wrong, I love the car and think it is a tremendous value. It is a great car. My issues are all cosmetic and minor, but with a new car things should be perfect. Looking at my prior posts that you listed, I agree the exhaust being off center isn't a big deal at all and the body panels (after realizing how much plastic is on the car) were easily corrected by a little effort on my part. The splash guards are another story. My car came with them from the factory. The tape didn't hold on 1 in the front and 1 in the back. When the dealer replaced them the 1st time, all 4 looked terrible. The adhesive tape wasn't strong enough to pull them flush to the body. Now, with the use of the GUMGUM adhesive (the stuff used for windshields) the are much better (although still slightly gapped) and acceptable. The fact that they lifted the car incorrectly is a completely different issue. I will probably have it repaired on my own, as I am basically done with DCH.

I'll take your word that the dealer didn't lift the car properly and may have caused the paint chip, but the dealer has already given you a new rim for something that wasn't their fault. That's at least a $700 value if you have the sport package. They have also replaced 3 sets of splash gaurds for you, when they probably haven't had to replace one set for anyone else. Replacing the rim was above and beyond the call of duty. I have curb rsash on one of mine, and I would never dream of asking the dealer to replace it gratis. I think the dealership is at the point where they would like to wash their hands of you. I think you're on your own with the paint chip. You can make all of the complaints you want to Nissan or the BBB, but once the dealer shows all of the documentation of what they have done for you already I don't even think you will get a response.

I would agree with your post Fly Yellow except that you are a bit off on the facts.
The splash guards, which you correctly stated have been replaced 3x, were replaced at their suggestion. I had just asked for them to be reattached with the adhesive tape. But I will give that point. The rim (Sport Package) was never asked for or suggested. It was offered because I have a friendship with the Sales Manager. In fact, the rim that was damaged with curb rash, I actually had repaired before the swap was made. So here I disagree with you. The chip is going to be interesting. I will probably have it repaired myself, but I am concerned about the underside of the car. I mean, the tech had to improvise to get the front splash guards to fit using a small shimmy and the GumGum because the mounting point under the car was pushed up during the incorrect lifting of my car. What else may be wrong?!? I really find it funny how there are a few folks on this forum who don't think that they have a right to ask for the car to be repaired properly or they just accept issues, flaws, or problems that, as a consumer, you are protected against and have rights for.

More than likely, they'll change their tune if they have to go to court...or, they might not...either way, present your case to the judge, and let him decide if they are responsible or not. You can also contact the BBB and might get some luck that way too. |
