Move under idle power only - 6mt?

This is usually what I do to find the engagement point on a new car. Let out the clutch slowly with zero throttle.

Yea I do this a lot. The worst is when traffic is moving just barely slower than that idle speed, then it's on and off the clutch constantly

Have used this technique in congested traffic for many years in various manual transmission vehicles I've owned Works best with those engines with sequential fuel injection, other type of fuel injection results in jerky vehicle movement in low speed no throttle operation

that is how I teach people to drive stick shift in a car other than my z that saves a burned out clutch from someone revving the motor until the clutch catches. Wait for the clutch to engage, start rolling, press the gas.

I have an 07 rabbit that I use as a commuter car and I have gotten it to the point I can make almost a complete stop without stalling.

I do this usually when reversing into parking spots or just trying to maneuver my car in small areas

If I could use it in the traffic we have here, I probably would, but it's so stop and go (like 5mph to 40mph back to 5mph) that it's useless to idle through.
It's not if you know how to drive manual or not, some cars just can't do it. I tried in my 93 civic and it didn't work lool, the Z works no problem though as well as my 94 integra.

I take off all the time without throttle. It's fun especially when people ride your *** and when you got that big *** truck behind you.

I do this too. Sometimes ill roll in 2nd at idle if traffic is creeping along a little faster.

Didn't think about trying it in 2nd. I'll have to give that a go.

Cool lots of people do this. My last cars didn't have enough torque to pull this off.

On a related note, does anyone accidentally let the clutch out at a stoplight thinking you were in neutral, but were really still in 1st? LURCH, stall, start button, facepalm.

Not at the light. I did once after first getting my car and starting it. Forgot I parked it in gear and booom....stall. luckily nothing was nearby so the only damage done was my pride lol. Now I'm pretty OCD about checking before letting out the clutch

did that on my first service visit to the nissan dealer for oil change, wasnt expecting service technician kid to leave the car in gear on level ground as i usually dont put it in gear when parked unless im on an incline. Started up, let out clutch and boom, stalled right there in the service bay with about a dozen people watching my car lol. so embarassing, but at the same time i was just thinking...f-ing service technician, why the hell would you do that?
