Pillar Coloring?
http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3771/8...c8ce4021_z.jpghttp://www.deluxeautomall.com/images...ct-id-2711.jpg
photoshopped pillar color What do you guys think of this? I'm a minimalist and I want to mod my Z where it holds a stock look but with a high-end look. I figured this pillar idea gives it a sort of attractive look. They do offer carbon-fiber Pillars from what I've seen but I have not seen any solid colored pillars and I'm sure its for a reason but i have no idea what the reason may be. |

I'm personally a big fan of red splashes on a white and black car. Looks nice. Is it high-end though? Nope.
|
Maybe in white but not in red. If done red you’re better off leaving black or going carbon fiber.
|
That does look interesting though....I kinda like it.
I don't know if I'd like it every day, but its different |
Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm sure I spit out a headscratcher when I stated a high end look so i guess to explain what I had in mind while saying that is that I want something bold similar to the odd side panel of the Audi r8. Not exactly that but something that just sticks out boldly. A lot of people stick within visual boundaries just from observing photos and its kinda boring so I may give this a try after a few other mods and see how it turns out but I will most likely photoshop the same idea in different ways with different pictures.

If that Z had red brakes and could tie that red pillar in then i think it would look decent.. Different for sure. The chrome one is hideous though...

The red just makes me wonder, "why red on the pillar?" In a minimalist effort, try a bright red trim on your stock interior, and maybe a some red "Z" floor mats/trunk mat. Sleek white outside, sexy red inside....oh my  |
yah, maybe thrown in some red text mixed in with the black on that decal there too.
|
btw, dont do that chome in that first pict. that looks nasty. borerline "did you use aluminum tape from home depot?" lol
i had a 60+ neighbor down the street modding(?) his little hatch and he put those appliques all over the car. was like damn, i you want a buick from the 70's with chrome bumpers and such, just get the real thing... |
I guess red would stand out quite a bit but some stubborn muscle in my brain is willing to see it in person and in motion. I also had an idea of a carbon-fiber pillar with a red stripe on it and if not that then I want to come up with an idea for a carbon fiber hood. My inspiration for some of the ideas comes from my love for Pagani Zonda Cinque cars http://saveanddelete.com/wp-content/...roadster_3.jpg

I laughed my *** off on this repsonse lol!! awesome home depot creativity hahaha! |
wide red electric tape? :ugh2:
|
creativity on a budget usually = fail...
|
well... i don't think tape is the actual solution lol
|
I actually quite like the red. Maybe it's my inner ricer speaking. The red does need something to tie it together though. Red calipers would be a good start. I would also recommend painting the door handles to match the body so it doesn't stand out so much and ruin the look. Gloss red vinyl will probably get you closest to what you want.
The look you're describing isn't high-end per se. The best I could describe it would be something of a design element to give the car a bit more character. Some people will get it, some won't. |
yes indeed it may not say high end all over it definitely character. I did a walk-around on my car to picture this idea and I figured in person it would be cool if it were someone elses car and not mine lol! ALTHOUGH... I would like to do a carbon-fiber maybe.

I do like the carbon-fiber although im not a fan of the decal but it could work with the right decal or emblem placed there.
|
You know i do like the small red vinyl strip on the mirror... They did it on the 2014 Nismo and on that nice supercar in this post if you look closely... Maybe i will rock that on my craftsquare mirrors once i decide to get them....
