Thank you. For the reals.

Dear fellow 370Z peeps,

I have been lurking on this forum for almost a year. Y'all are hilarious, entertaining, and best of all - incredibly informative. I haven't posted anything because I'm still learning a ton about my Z and know y'all would probably laugh me off of the forum due to my sports car stupidity.

So why am I posting now? I want to thank you for sharing your knowledge and love of the Z. I just drove my baby home after getting a new set of the Michelin PSS tires. And I would have sounded ridiculous talking to the tire guy if it wasn't for this forum.

Thank you. For the reals.

I most certainly did not provide any of the knowledge, but I'll take all of the credit.

You're welcome!

Dude I am about as unknowledgeable about cars as a person can almost be. I basically just regurgitate what smarter people here tell me. Anyone that would laugh at you for asking a question about something they all share a love for , well, would be laughed at themselves.

'Grats on new tires!

Indeed. You obviously have excellent taste, both in cars and '80s metal.

Do you have the sports package?
How much were your Micheline PSS?

axmea? 05-22-2013 12:37 AM

I echo your sentiment. I had zero knowledge about our cars. All I wanted last year was to get a nice sports car. The Cayman and the Z came to mind. After some research and after i found how much cost of ownership for a Cayman was, I joined this forum to learn about the Z some more. I bought my PW two weeks after I joined. I had no plans to mod the thing and now the car looks and drives so much different from the day I bought it. All because of this forum. Oh yes, I got to meet nice people and see their nice Z's as well.

chrischhorn 05-22-2013 02:06 AM

I wish I could learn....my head hurts just thinkin about it.

rocketqueen 05-22-2013 01:20 PM

Yes, I have the sport package. I expected the tires to cost around $8 million, but they were only $1500 (including tax and all the other stuff). And they're totally bad azz. The most significant difference I noticed is how much quieter it is when I'm on the freeway.

I saw a G35 Coupe with Blue rims in Pacifica ,Ca the other day....I was with the Wife and we had a good laugh...It could barely get out of the parking lot and I got to show her what they have to do to mount large wheels and tires....The Camber was set at a 30 to 40 degree angle....Looked like a clown car:icon14:

fonzo179 05-22-2013 04:28 PM

I see exactly where you're coming from, ROCKETQUEEN. It's like being surrounded by experts whom you can pull knowledge from, rag on other drivers, geek out about similar interests, and even share life lessons with all at the same time.

Plus it makes my borring-@ss job suck less. :icon17:

ElVee 05-22-2013 08:26 PM

I agree. I wasn't a car guy at all until the 370z was released; then I became casually interested. But it wasn't until I actually GOT the Z that I stoked the fires and started learning. A huge part of it (and everything on the Z itself) comes from here. :)
