Good choice with the 7AT as it will continue to impress you and quite frankly is faster than the MT albeit with a different experience. I'm not sure what's going on with some of these guys issues as all I have ever had to do to my '09 Z is pull a fuse for the steering lock even though it was working fine (pulled it just in case).
