The forum is my sweet escape from my boring job. Makes me feel good imagining other working grunts like me hammering away at a keyboard...bosses lurking like sharks just waiting to pounce.....

-Hey!!! You got that REPORT ready???
-No Sir, just uhh, comparing this quarter's numbers to last quarter. I understand the math, but I've been working the "so what" factor for our proposal to headquarters. Sorry, Sir.
-Okay, okay, no worries, that sounds good. Just get it to me before close of business.
-Yes, Sir.

He probably just reads some tuner magazines every month and thinks he knows a lot about his car. Truth is, forums end up containing pretty much everything about the car and printed in the forum language. When the language is English, that's a pretty big chunk of information.

I went on the forums of every car that I was considering when I was buying, because I like to be truly informed about what I'm getting. I was reading this forum looooong before I ever test drove a 370Z. I'm pretty sure most people on here are the type that like to be in the know, and be knowledgable about their cars. Unfortunately, the majority of the world is not like that.

You people are killing me. How do you afford the Z AND FI ? :shakes head: I'm still trying to figure out if I can do it. I know...'don't know the answer to the question then I don't need it'. You're not in my world. I was in the same position with a 65" plasma a while back, I just sold enough toys to fund the project. I convinced the wife but that's only half the battle. :stirthepot:

I visit about 3 times a day. I have got all of my information from this site since the day I bought my Z. It is good to be armed with knowledge when you have to deal with people that don't know what they are talking about.

I agree with some members......
  • So many Z owners don't know this forum exist.
  • We're a small fraction.
  • I gained so much knowledge and save a ton of money --- and spent a lot too.
  • Lots of members are a great resource and helped me with lots of information on product and specialty shops for service/install/mod upgrades.
  • For those who aren't members --- their loss not ours.
  • Oh yeah this place is just as entertaining.

I must admit I do keep the forum up on my computer pretty much all day, just sometimes mininmized just to look professional for the customers :rofl2:. but I do browse on here through out the day just trying to pick up on good info and learn from others trials and errors and being a noob to this car in particular it helps alot for me. unforutunately im in no position to yet be able to give advice back though unless of course someone needs help with loans or credit cards or banking needs lol :happydance:..but i do enjoy this forum most definitely

It happens. I was at a car show one Sunday morning and two older men one owning a sport just like mine and another had a Nismo walked up to me and asked me is "FairladyZ" some special model they came out with? (I replaced the 370Z with the FairladyZ emblem) I had to explain to them what that means.

I just assumed that everyone here browsed this site! If you have a Z, then you more than likely love the Z which means you want to know everything about the Z. How else would I know that my yellow Z is called Chicane Yellow and not Chiffon Yellow?

What's wrong with a lot of shoes, bro?! :p

When I first bought my car I had only browsed the forums a couple of times. I can see how it would help some in their car purchase decisions but I knew exactly what and how I wanted mine. But since then I've been all over this thing. Made a couple of quick decision buys that were not timed well (no thanks to my fingers and the credit card they stole from my wallet but since then I've regained control of myself and really starting to learn some things. It is hard for me to adjust to any new forum because I may not know the lingo or the first time I saw FI it made no sense because out of context it read something like "...I have a FI (forced induction - to me) exhaust and blah blah blah"..." and I was like, wtf? You people on crack? But I digress...

Suffice it to say because I have no life you people are my life. I need a life. lol
