Location makes a big difference. Maybe not $510 difference, but it's really hard to compare insurance rates across the country.

If your getting quoted for over 500 a month. You better get on the parents policy or get a bicycle.

How's your credit? Many companies take that into account as well.

Ok, that's part of your problem. That's a really short time to have a payment history. You're young, buying a high risk category of car, in a high theft area with little credit of your own. If I was looking at having to spend $6k+ a year on insurance, I'd be buying a different car. In 5 years, you've paid the cost of the car in insurance.

More so than a sedan. The insurance companies know sportier cars are usually driven in a spirited manner, leading to claims. You're looking at one with over 300 hp. A better long term financial decision would be to buy something much cheaper and slower while you build your credit. After you turn 25, your rates will drop dramatically. Then, go buy something more entertaining while paying less in interest and insurance.

If you are paying more then $500, Id sell the car!
Thats ridiculous.. There has to be someone willing to do it for less. Especially if you say you have a clean record.
