Stranded on the freeway twice in one month (fuel starvation)

At the time I posted those video's it is when I recording myself whenever I was driving my car so that is just a highlight of things that happened. You act as if that was my norm or something. Because yeah I just get randomly cut off and people spray me with windshield wiper fluid every single day.

I remember this idiot... he drives around with a video recorder going all the time just hoping to catch a situation where he can show us all how cool he is.

I remember that one video where he was tailgating someone on the highway and they just so happened to use their windshield washer fluid (how dare they) and a little over-spray hit his car. Then he act's like a total *** and gets in front of the car, slams on his brakes and then uses his windshield spray and hit's their car.

Real mature.

Then another video where he's flying down some busy street at night and a car happens to pull out from a side street to see if any traffic is coming. Of course, we have this idiot speeding down the road so he slams on his brakes and almost hits the car. Then he acts all cool and floors it around the car and speeds down the road.

I couldn't agree more that this type of behavior give's Z drivers a bad name. Add the fact that he records all of these encounters and posts them for the world to see to get positive reinforcement for his actions is icing on the cake.

If someone is experiencing fuel starvation on the street, slow the hell down. Problem solved.

If you begin to sputter in a long right hander, can you straighten out at low speed and kind of wiggle back and forth to slosh some gas back over to the right side of the hump??? Coast to straight and reprime your right side fuel pump???

Also how much gas to get her running again? Could I carry a gallon or so around to avoid being stranded? I assume that the pump is on the right and so is the gas cap so a small amount of emergency gas would suffice.

I suppose if you catch the sputtering quick enough you will be able to get gas back into the system by straightening it out... but usually it's too late.

It's really not that hard to keep the fuel tank above half-full. I mean, sure it's kind of a pain in the *** but if it's THAT big of an issue for people, the solution is fairly simple.

As for carrying a gas can in your car... uh, I suppose 1 gal would be enough to get it going again. Your car will smell like a gas-station, but whatever works for you.

Just pour the gas in, hit the start button twice to turn the fuel pump on and wait a few minutes for it to suck gas back into the system and it should start right up.

...or you can keep your gas tank half-full and never have to worry.

It would be a whole hell of a lot easier to just not let the main gas tank get low. Way easier than getting stranded, or keeping a smelly gas can in the car. Or not pull through corners that hard on the street. Or some combination of the two.

You sound as if you're not driving 3,500 lbs of metal around on the streets. Or, you sound as if you are driving around 3,500 lbs of metal on the streets and don't realize the responsibility that comes with that. Who the f**k cares if you got sprayed?! Calm down. I'm not supposed to use my windshield washers because the guy behind me may catch some overspray? If you're close enough behind me that you catch some overspray, you're too close to my bumper. Flip out on the wrong guy about spraying you and you might end up with more problems than a few water spots. Fact: there's always someone crazier than you. That's why I don't drive like a complete tool.
