Was the GTI faster than the 350z? I heard those GTi's can get alot of extra power from a simple ECU flash.

The 07 350z had the HR motor, so it was definitely faster than the GTI. Even with stage 1 the GTI wasn't on par with it. But it was still such a fun car to drive.

Off topic because I wanted to see what you all think since you guys come from different types of cars etc.

Anyone experience this? I came from a very agile RWD car that stuck to the road like it was on rails. My Rx8, because of my setup, had more grip than the 370Z but that's not my issue. I just feel the 370 is all over the place at high speeds. Alignment is stock. This car bounces like a basketball whenever it hits a bump at 60 + mph highway speeds. I also have to make constant steering corrections because the rear end feels like its wondering left and right at high speeds 80 + mph. Keep in mind that it did this on stock suspension. Then I put springs and camber arms in the rear. Still all over the place. I mean hasn't anyone else noticed this or am I too picky?

I've taken it to a shop I trust and they confirmed that everything is OK suspension wise. So is this normal for the 370? I am getting close to the point of just getting rid of the car and buying a project car (Either Monster Miata or Rx7 FD3s with LS3/drysump swap).
It's probably due to the wider stance and wider tires. This isn't a no hand down the road kind of car. You definitely know your are driving the Z and can get exciting at higher speeds.

I feel like mine settles at speed. Specially when you get up above 70.

I forgot to mention it did it with stock tires as well.

Would a bad rear diff mount give symptoms like those I mentioned?

In order:
-1987 Olds Cutlass supreme
-1995 Mazda Miata (GREAT car. First sports car. Got me into tuning cars)
-1986 Toyota MR2 (project)
-2002 Subaru WRX
-2006 Volkswagen GTI
-1992 240SX (project)
-1983 Alfa Romeo Spider (project)
-2014 370Z

The Miata was a great car. I probably miss that car the most, and regret selling it to this day. The WRX was an eye opener to turbos, AWD, and getting into trouble lol. The GTi was a GREAT car. Never modded. 185k miles and I traded it in for the Z. The Z is the only car in the stable and is a daily/project track car. Yaaay to 1 mile work commutes!

Did they check the diff bushing? Other posts talk about similar effects with a blown diff bushing.

I've owned my Z for a couple of months now and can say that I haven't experienced any of the issues that you've described. Mine handles extremely well overall, tracks straight as an arrow at any speed (I've had it up to about 130), and feels stable and stuck to the road.

None of these issues came up when you test drove the car? I must have had my sales guy away from the dealership for a good half-hour putting mine through the paces in every reasonable circumstance that I could think of. I wanted no surprises in how the car behaved after owning it for a week.

Let us know if you find out anything regarding the diff bushing, like jpkirk mentioned, or anything else. I would be interested to know exactly what the problem is.
