Nissan lowering prices in U.S. of A.

The Armada is in dire need for a makeover. I can't believe they keep prolonging it. That being said, I would mind owning one. I'm glad the Z wasn't on

You have a FULL detailed thread on why you purchased your Z, with pics of the Z and every car you owned the last 4 years. I'm just sayin that due to certain clowns on here that Z bash... when people make justification statements, they jump out of the jungle and start BS. I just didn't want the redundant, comeback for Z justifiers.

Just a sickening cycle on the forum. So pardon me for not bein so light.

Seems like this is all in your head because the discussion shifted that way, I made my "justification" statement, folks agreed, and we continued on. No out of the jungle bs came a about.

This is a discussion forum after all.

And who cares if a few people "bash" the car? You should be secure enough not to give a damn about what a few people think about the car. It shouldn't phase you one bit.

Agree. I bought my Z for a reason and it makes me happy. There will always be haters, so be it. It does get annoying sometimes though

There are haters for every car made. Some may have more than others but they are there.

i read nissan might be coming out with a small hatch to compete vs the honda fit/golf.

the concept drawing looks pretty good. might be something to look our for,
for me (actually my wife) my older fit is 5yrs old now, and im starting to look
for the next car.

it's a market they can have success in, especially with Renault's help. Let's just hope Nissan is smart enough to offer multiple engine choices. Offer a 1.6/1.8 130 hp engine, and try a 1.8T that Mercedes puts in its US spec C250 Sport or creat a 1.4T. A econo hatch and a sport version would sell well.

You need to be competitive:
Ford Fiesta, Ford Fiesta ST (turbo)
Ford Focus, Ford Focus ST (turbo)
VW Golf, VW GTI (turbo)
Fiat 500, Fiat 500T (turbo), FiaT 500 Abarth (turbo)
Mini Cooper, Mini Cooper S (Turbo)
Chevy sonic, Chevy Sonic RS (turbo)

There is a pattern there!

Brands that don't do the multiple engines:
Nissan Versa
Toyota Vitz/scion xD/Toyota Yaris
Honda Fit

i think the honda fit is still the benchmark of all dd'ed hatches. have to remember most folks, including myself, buys these hatches to carry things in a convenient way. being fun and quick is good....but fast is not required.

reliablity and utility is required... now most of the cars on your list are out.

Honda fit utility and reliability is comparable to Versa Hatch, Toyota's hatches, Ford focus hatch, and probably with the Golf (though maybe not so much reliability)

The cars that aren't utility friendly are fiat, mini, sonic, fiesta but they are also a different class.

yah, the other part is the fun and quick part...not to forget quality. still not comparable imho. if u remember, i test drove a lot of different hatches last year.

including the ms3. im not a fit fanboi by any means, i naturally just landed there once again... for the 3rd time.
the competition is still not at the same level while people might say other wise.

i hope nissan brings something to the table.

Can't agree more. All cars you can judge them by fun factor but some need to save all the performance stats. A car like the fit makes for a great utility vehicle. No one has made a car with more room in such a small pkg. Perfectly geared for pep. perfectly tuned suspension for just enough fun at a very reasonabe price. Looks wise, not a big fan... But it's a great vehicle.

Do you have a link of the nissan, honda competitor sketch?

Just an observation. I'm not pro or con of CVT. Get used to CVT being around for a long time. Engineers and performance analysts see this as a baby growing into maturity. There was a lot wrong with them but if you get into 2013 models? I can tell you they are improving bi-yearly. I think one more decade and you will find high performance CVT's that are worth something.
Engineers have mastered the efficiency aspect, almost mastered reliability but are just getting into injecting performance. CVT will be a long work in progress and Nissan, the pioneer of CVT's aren't going to give up on improving them as long as they are the bulk of nissan sales. Most people like them for the non hesitating power offered in passenger vehicles. Shifting them lacks something though. That will get better from an electronic standpoint like wack azz electric steering..

I agree. With companies developing 9/10+ speeds autos, it'll be interesting to see which type has better reliability. These new geared autos will always be shifting. I have no problem with the CVT, I owned a 3.5 Altima with one for 5 years and it was great for a DD/road trip car, I just don't think they belong on anything sport oriented.....at this point anyways. We'll see what the future holds.
