I like the initiative from automakers to provide another alternative, as hybrid, even if its a sports car.
It is a "new" generation on the automotive industry and we should look forward to it.

hehehe....i don't get it. I'll take that as a compliment, if you call 31 young...you look about the same age too young man. No I haven't read this forum since day one...because I didnt feel like I deserved to be on this site unless I was a proud Z owner...and with my hard earned money...I felt I owned it to myself for all the hard work I've done in my life to spoil myself for once. So hear I FINALLY am, with my measly now 11 posts and noob opinions. GOD Bless America.

Now back to the subject...I can argue for both sides of the spectrum...I just didnt see enough debating against hybrids...so I figured I'd make my contribution to that side of the argument hehe. Of course the hybrid is exciting...the Z's track record in improving their models have been good, so I'm sure this wouldn't be any different. I'm sure it will be a great car, its just a matter of tastes is all.

I was just commenting on the fact that when someone is new to the site they usually read through pages and pages and end up on some really old posts. Looks like you did the same.

Uh... no i didn't. It's cause I just recently bought a 2010 Z this month (hence the recent join date) and did some research if I needed to wait until 2011, thats when I found out about the hybrid and found this post. Thanks for assuming though. I am too busy with career and family to do what you implied "new people do" of filtering through old posts.
No offense, but so f'n what if this thread is old..hybrid Zs are going to be more of a topic the closer we get to its release date. So expect this discussion to get more feedback. I get that old news can be irritating to regulars here, but if a thread needed to be revived, isn't this topic appropriate since hybrids are just around the corner? How about just be courteous, stop assuming, allow new members to actively participate in conversation and stop being so territorial, this isnt high school.

Okay, so I just did a bit of research and found, for the automatic that its going to have "the arrangement employing two clutches to take the place of the torque converter for a seven-speed auto transmission allowing electic power to run only at the lower speeds". Okay, im not too familiar with hybrids, but this makes sense...I guess its not so bad afterall. What it boils down to is if the price of the lithium battery is worth the small increase in performance. Cause really, I love to go fast sometimes, but...400hp just seems overkill if you ask me.

Calm down there buddy. There's nothing wrong with reading through old posts. I did it when I got my Z. If you didn't that's fine. It's a joke. It's quite common for a new member to do so I made a joke about how you may have arrived at this thread.

Breathe man.

WHAT! THATS IT!! CB!!!! RRAAAHHHHHHH!!! oops, youre right, i need to take a breather.

Ok, i feel better. Thanks man.

minor change rumor in Japan

hi. I heard minor change rumor that nissan dealer will announce it at Oct or Nov.

Recently, Japanese Z-car fun confirmed this infomation from dealer.
According to this infomation, brade silver will be discontinue and preparing new color is dark metal gray.
And 40th aniversarymodels sales termination in japan.

Maybe, i think minor change don't alter the machine performance to that extent.
But i heard one more things. That is version nismo ECU's program will be change. im looking forward to it.

Project Cycles Aligned with Gas Shortages

I heard from a birdie that talks with certain military R&D folks that gas shortages will accelerate in about 18 months in some key areas of the world. Expect these hybrid "projects" final maturity phases to wrap up around then. Car manufacturers have to keep an eye on cost of ownership or their cars won't sell. So as gas gets more expensive we should expect to have to put less gas in our cars while paying for more electricity. Maybe the cars will come with a solar panel and a small power station to allow you to charge your car? It's all about ROI...

This is step 2 in a 3 step process of phasing out combustion engines for the masses. Early adopters will fund the development of lower cost hybrids so that the usable life of the currently owned cars is exhausted and people will buy the new technology without too much of a fuss. The 3rd phase will be to only offer electric cars. All of this has to line up with changes to the infrastructure for electricity, gas, and commodity goods transportation. Disruptive technologies all follow a similar path.

I'll take 2 hybrid Z's when they come out. :tiphat:
