Check the power steering fluid level just to make sure. If it is an issue with alignment, then the rear wheel you replaced needs to be looked at more carefully. It shouldn't do what you're describing, which is symptomatic of something out of alignment. How hard did you hit that curb? ....must have been pretty serious if you needed to replace the wheel and swing arm.
