Just wondering if anyone has cut down their license plates in their state to give the car the "Euro" style look, and if so, is it legal? I came across

Cutting down license plate on Z (Euro Style) Legal?
Just wondering if anyone has cut down their license plates in their state to give the car the "Euro" style look, and if so, is it legal?

I asked Tx DPS about euro style. It's illegal to do either here. The automatically told me about modified plates asking that question.
